Is anybody going next week? I had my plans to go but found out today I cant make it, however I'm still gonna try to go Tuesday.

The Sox could really use our support right now, especially in Detroit. I hope we can get a good WSI crew up there.

Anyone know what tickets are going for? Its gotta be a tough ticket.

I'm still thinking of trying to get over there for a game, but it's sort of looking like it won't work. :(:

For the people that are going...don't be *******s and start running your mouths off if the Sox win a game or two. Remember to be respectful, something that a lot of visitor fans haven't been to us this year.

I agree. Represent us well, not like loudmouth jerks. I hate when visiting fans are like that in our park, and two wrongs don't make a right.

Southside_Hitmen, Chisoxgirl, Robiwho, me and hopefully 4 other WSIers TBA will be in Section 338 for Thursday's game. If anyone needs a ticket, send me a PM -- we'd love to get a full quorum of 8 loud Sox fans together.

I'll be there Wednesday and Thursday in the outfield. Should be an enjoyable time. I don't mind Detroit fans too much, hopefully some of them will be able to take a few jokes.

Does anyone who's going and/or is familiar with the area surrounding Comerica Park know of a potential WSI gathering place for after Wednesday night's game? We'll be arriving that evening and it'd be nice to get the WSI contingency together.

The State is a pretty cool place. It's on Woodward, a block or so west of Comerica. A couple other places I've been to are the Detroiter, and the Detroit Beer Co, both of which are a couple blocks south of the park, toward the river.

Work is keeping me from the games this week, but I should be there in August. Have fun, represent well, and go Sox!

SSHM suggested "any place except Hockeytown" and I can't argue with him. Hockeytown is a big barn of a bar...very Urinal-esque. I know we can do better (read: dumpier).

Chelios's joint opened last month and it is right next to the stadium:

He is a from here and I'd bet there would be many White Sox fans based on his old place near the Chicago Stadium. The only problem is it may be "Hockeytownish" though I hated that place based on the lack of service more than anything.

Kraut's suggested The State which is close as well. I would say those are the two best options as far as location is concerned.

It would be great to finalize by tomorrow for people heading up - you don't want to be lost in Detroit. :o:

I know a few places in Greektown but that is a mile away from the stadium. We usually stay in Windsor when going to Detroit (for obvious reasons - it isn't Detroit. :redneck ).

Going Thursday afternoon and sitting in Kaline's Corner. Anybody know why these seats are cheaper than SRO seats? They are in section 107, which doesn't even show up on some seating charts.

I'll be there Thursday sec 118, row 22. All the games are sold out except SRO and maybe a single ticket here or there. As for Kaline's Corner see below, it's beneath the outfield deck. -812many

I went to Chelios' place in March. It's nice. Good food. More of a restaurant than a sports bar

If you guys come to a decision post it here please. It would be cool to put faces behind the names.

We are staying in Windsor. Anyone else? I heard there is a bunch of bars on Ouellette Avenue. Hopefully I can stay out of the casino!

ChiSoxGirl, cheeses_h_rice and I are staying at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown, which is just a few blocks from Comerica. PM one of us and we can exchange cell #s.

It seems like Chelio's and The State are the suggested choices. Both serve food, which will be good for those of us arriving on Wednesday evening. Anyone have a preference?

We are starting at Cheli's and if it is not up to drinking team standards we will head to The State which is within stumbling distance or elsewhere once the crew is all there.

We would always drink (various bars) & stay (in the Casinos) North of the border so this will be a first for me. Hopefully we will survive the trip (and I'm not worried about the drinking part), find a decent bar and watch a few White Sox winners!!!

We rented a car so I am having second thoughts about doing any serious drinking in Detroit. I never even thought about dealing with the Candian Authorities. I dropped the ball on this one. I am going to have to find out if a cab ride is not too outrageous. I am going to PM my phone number to Cheeses and SSHM maybe you guys can call and let us know where you are. One way or another we will be:

:gulp:in the US or Canada!
