I'm not sure if any of you have heard of this, but some Tigers pitchers have developed their own verison of the Rally Monkey. Back in June, Nate Robertson started putting entire packages of Big League Chew in his mouth when the team was down late in the game, and they remarkably have come back 90% of the time. I dont know where I'm going with this, but people in Michigan seem to think it's "so cool!". It worked tonight, as the Tigers were down 4-1 in the 5th and rallied to score 5 runs to take a 6-4 lead over the Royals as I type this. Heres an old article about the Rally Gum:

I love Big League Chew, I used to chew the whole pack as well when I was younger. I didn't know it was still made!

I put a whole pack in my mouth once when I was a kid. My Mom got mad at me and made me spit it out. What a waste of Gum that was.

No rally hat, gum, monkey, or anything else should be used in the 5th inning of a game. That's way too early.

Nate never really intended it to work. It just happened.

Family Guy is terrible. Ever since that stupid movie, FG has been unwatchable.

We don't need monkeys and gum. We just kick ass when needed.

do you know who invented the idea of big league chew?

Jim Bouton, when he was a minor leaguer with the Braves.

Some Yankees reliever thought of it while he was sitting in the bullpen during a game. I can't remember what his name is though. They used to put that on the back of the packages.

Really the Big League Chew I enjoy the most is Red Man tobacco. Why not go for the gold baby.

They used to make Big League Chew here in Naperville. The factory has long been torn down to make room for condominiums...but I still remember that sweet artificial grape smell as I would ride my bike to the park back in the day...:redneck

But that FG quote is from an episode from long before the movie. So I'm curious what your point is, tigers fan....

I dunno, just seeing Peter annoys me period now. South Park and even the Simpsons are better anyways.

Ooooh, boy. How clever. I was waiting for the ever cliche Pudge - Roids joke. Even if he took roids at some point of his career (which I believe he shortly did back with the Rangers) then why is he putting such "terrible" numbers? .308? 8 Homeruns? Only 8? ROIDER!

Don't be blinded by your fandom, please.

Okay, so you admit he took them at some time, but don't think he is anymore so that makes it okay...

Get a clue...

On a side note are raisins considered grape flavored?

Don't you have somewhere else to troll? Get lost.

And who the **** ever started calling that loser "Pudge"? There is only one Pudge, and he played for the Sox (both of them).

I'm not sure who started it, but I'm willing to bet the person was not associated with the Tigers. We can't help it man, he was Pudge when he came to Detroit.
