Its a joke that the game is in Pittsburgh when it was there in 94 (I know its a new stadium). Its an even bigger joke that the game is in San Fran next year.

and New York may get it 2 years in a row

08 The last year of old Yankee Stadium
09 The first year of new Mets Park

Of course I wouldn't be shocked if Bud gave the game back to Milwaukee soon since they never saw the game completed.

Why?:?:

Well, one reason might be that it will be in a National League park two years in a row. Another reason might be that, although San Fran has a new park and Pittsburgh has a new park, there has never been an All-Star Game at Chase Park, formerly the BOB, despite the fact that it, too, is a new park. Or was, in 1998, when it opened.

Meanwhile, PNC Park (Pittsburgh) opened in 2001 and Pacific Bell Park (San Francisco) opened in 2000.

And Miller Park, which also opened in 2001, hosted the ALL-Star Game in 2002. How strange!

I think you mean '08 and '09. Then again, for all I know, 2098 may be the last year for the new-old Yankee Stadium!

I'm not sure I'd be bothered all that much by NYC getting it two years in a row. The Yankees haven't had it since '77, and the Mets haven't had it since '64. They're both overdue . . .

fixed it I must have had a time flux :?:

BTW this always bothers me. FOX every year goes to commercial during the Canadian National Anthem. A NY Post writer says that is on the personal order of Rupert Murdoch who has had problem with the Canadian version of the FCC (CRTC)

Garner: "Home field is obviously important for the World Series..."

Yeah, like that would have made a difference for your sorry team last year.

If Garner wants to fire up his team, he should throw a chair again.

Finally proof that Ozzie Guillen is a bad manager: He is starting Kenny Rogers tonight. I, along with many other Tiger fans who have been following him realize that his last few starts have been subpar at best. If the American League loses this I hope that it is not because of a Tiger.

EDIT: Didn't really know if that should be in teal or not.

I think the Pirates got the All-Star Game because PNC is an amazing park.

I totally missed this. Why is this presentation happening now in the middle of the game (as opposed to before it)?

well, something about the fact that there are two all star games in NL ballparks in a row makes me think that san fran may have been promised a game, but it was pushed back once they got this idea. not that i don't think roberto is totally deserving of this, but with bud selig i can never trust his motives.
