Nice showing by Cabrera. At this point, it looks like 9 is probably going to be enough to advance.

Of course not. I don't have cable.

And if that usher's name is Joe, it's the same one. Maybe kicking us out a few times was him practicing for today.

That high-speed camera is awesome though.

Hell yeah! It reminds me of that camera they use to show bullets being fired. With "normal" slow-mo, the ball is always blurred and streaky. You can see everything with this camera though, it looks like a video game or something.

Wright just hit one 470 and is at 12.

Well, Jermaine's on the bubble now and I don't have a good feeling with Howard coming up.

Even though I picked him to win it, I think Howard could just as easily put up 3 or 4 here. While Howard is tremendously strong, his HRs tend to be opposite field shots and no one tries to go opposite field in the Derby. We'll see. My initial thought about him winning could be right and he could hit 15 here, but I think JD still has a chance to advance.

Well, I was hoping he'd get out early, but it kind of looked like he really wanted to move on.

Meanwhile, I think they should announce a new "ESPY" award: the All-Suckup award. Of course, every year it would be about a 10- or 12-way tie. But I think we all can agree on who would win the "ESPY All-Suckup Lifetime Achievement" award.

I like the new rules that allow players to combine first and second-round home run totals.

Ryan Howard is a monster. If he can ever learn to lay off breaking pitches down and in, he's going to shatter Barroid's home run record.

SoxSpeed22

Good job Howard. My pick from the beginning. There weren't any monster shots like before, but it was fun. It is clear why Jim Thome became expendable, Howard's got the swing.
JD gave a great effort, can't complain about playing 19 innings then hitting 7 homers. A 475 foot shot too.

That's true. Rockford consistently ranks in the top five among metropolitan areas in the United States for most affordable housing.

Of course "affordable" does not always equal a good or nice house/neighborhood...

Dye didnt look too bad at all, especially with that monster bomb to center field. And Ryn Howard can really hit some stupid long balls, very impressive.
Of course, all of this is for naught because everyone in the MLB, according to local chemist and GH expert Mike North, is on HGH. And this is the reason for all the HRs and Dyes recent surge in power. Even though HGH has really nothing to do with gaining strength or speed. ....sigh.
