Who would make up your ideal broadcast team for the Fall Classic?

John Rooney and...Vin Scully? Rooney and someone else good.

any tandem that doesn't include Tim McCarver

He may know a lot about baseball, but I think his delivery sucks.

Rooney, Scully, and a pregame show featuring Costas and Al Michaels.

I'm probably the only person who thinks this, but I liked the Baseball Netowrk that ABC and NBC had going in '94 and '95, with games every Monday and Friday evening. It was fun.

I don't think he is too bad, he may improve if he doesn't get another managers job first. He beats all the other Fox and Espn bozos.

The latest rumor is that Gillick wants him in Philly. We'll see what happens.

I want Farmer and Rooney calling the games and I want Moose hanging out during the pre-game shows. And I want DJ and Singleton sitting close by taking very thorough notes.

John Rooney and Bob Uecker.
Uecker was good for NBC when they had it.

Hawk, Farmer, Rooney. Never will happen again, but I will always remember the 05 post-season when they were (shortly) together for a few innings.

But being the incredible human being he is, he would probably give a lucky little kid who couldn't afford tickets to any White Sox game to broadcast with him.

What a guy.

Excellent point but the kid would probably come through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and that would just be a sad broadcast. :(:

Curt Gowdy with the home team announcer when the games are played in the home park.

In other words the way NBC-TV used to do it.

Vin Scully by himself. I occasionally listen to Scully do the first three innings of Dodger games. He doesn't need anyone else.

My idea is a bit more modest. I'd take John Rooney and Al Leiter. I remember being rather impressed with Leiter's work the year he was in the Fox booth for the postseason and felt like he was actually adding something rather than just droning on and on when he talked.

Pinella is brutal. He makes Bill Walton sound like a genius. I think Rick Sutcliffe is the best analysis in the game.

Rooney and Stone would be the best living combo, IMO.
