So let's see, Wood is out 4-6 weeks for rotator cuff surgery and Messiah now has a strained oblique muscle after a handful of starts. So are the Cubs still in the Wild Card chase?

You know, it's getting to where I'm almost starting to feel sorry for Cubs fans. Almost.

DAMN!!! The guy I'm up against this week (in head to head fantasy baseball) had Prior pitching today. I needed his 4.38 Whip and 8.44 ERA today to help me whoop him for the week.

Booooooooo!

I know what you mean. I am not a fan of that organization by any means but these two guys are just unbelievable with their DL stints and excuses already. It's really gone from beyond pathetic to downright absurd.

Scratched from the line-up? Being so tough, I thought he was attacked by a wild puma!

You know, this may keep Dusty around a little longer. Because there's no way to impartially evaluate him when none of the starting pitchers are healthy.

And anyone here is surprised by this?

Yeah. I would love to see an easy to read chart of their injury histories. Homefish? Are most of these injuries related or are these guys that fragile?

No Chart, but they are only related by job description and employer.

I'm pretty sure the Woody-Prior circus will be over up north at the end of the year. This is the Cubs we are talking about though so they will probably bring Prior back to sit on the D.L. for 3/4 the season again.

Sore side, sneeze sideline Prior

Staff writer MILWAUKEE Welcome to life with the Cubs in the Dusty Baker era, where "Gesundheit" is occasionally followed by "Oh, (bleep)!"

Cubs pitcher Mark Prior aggravated his left oblique muscle during batting practice at Miller Park on Saturday. He thought he could still make Sunday's scheduled start against Milwaukee, but he aggravated the injury while sneezing Sunday morning. :?:

You can't make this stuff up (and lord knows we try here!).

Is Prior that big a wuss or is he sandbagging?

Theory time:

He has seen all of the problems Wood has had, maybe he sits as much as he can to save his arm. Someday he will leave that bull**** organization and re-start his career.

I think Prior was always hurt, but as per Cub tradition, the team downplayed the seriousness of the injury until they simply couldn't hide the truth anymore. You know, keep that hope alive. The true gravity of Wood's injury is now coming to light. I think the same thing will happen with Prior, although you hate to see any player go through this kind of stuff.

Wouldn't be shocked to see both Wood and Prior done for the season.

Don't, because they would never do so for you.
