Just heard this rumor on the Fox sports pregame. anyone heard anything else?

I would not like this at all.

Is he gonna play second? For sure from the defensive side, I'd rather see, as a Sox fan, Soriano there than Polanco.

I think they're set with Placido.

I would not like this at all. Yesterday they said he might be going back to the Spankees, so who knows.

Fox Sports is an even less reliable source for baseball information than ESPN. I wouldn't believe anything until it actually happens.

That's funny, because everything I've heard says that Soriano likes it in Washington, wants to stay, and management was preparing a "Konerko" type offer for him to keep him.

They would play him in LF, benching Monroe...or Monroe would still have a chance to get some AB's and/or serve as insurance for Marcus Thames.

Maybe the White Sox being behind the Tigers will cause Dombrowski and Illitch to let up a little and not go for the jugular with a July acquisition. But Don't count on it.

I'm not sure who they're going to acquire, anyway. They don't need an outfielder (they already have Monroe and Thames) and they don't need a second baseman. What they need to get is extra pitching help, because I've got a feeling that rotation is going to implode. I say, go ahead and get him, the Sox are still the better team.

Fox also mentioned they were interested in Aubrey Huff.

Remember folks last month or so George Offman said on WSCR radio that the Sox had conversations with the Nationals (I almost typed Senators!) and that Soriano's name was possibly mentioned.

Probably eventually on the simulation squad with the rest of those bozo's.
