Carl Everett reportedly got into a closed-door shouting match with M's manager Mike Hargrove this week over his perceived lack of playing time.

Seattle Mariners manager Mike Hargrove and designated hitter Carl Everett refused Wednesday to talk about their closed-door shouting match, most of it from Everett, that occurred after the 14-6 loss to the Los Angeles Angels a night earlier.

The 35-year-old Everett went into Hargrove's office about 45 minutes after the game and apparently voiced his frustration about his diminished playing time with the addition of veteran Eduardo Perez in a trade with the Cleveland Indians last week.

Boy, I don't know how this Sox team keeps winning without Crazy Carl's leadership skills. He's batting .175 against LHP and has the gall to complain when the team makes a trade for a platoon guy who hits .330 against LHP.

He wouldn't have to worry about his playing time if he were hitting better. Perez was brought in primarily to play against left handed pitchers since Carl has had trouble hitting right handed. Even now he is not hitting right handers all that well. I don't think it will be too long before he is either traded or released. Eddie had been grumbling about losing his closer's role and the M's have since traded him.

I don't know enough about the M's to say for sure, but on the surface, that team seems like a mess. They have to be kicking themselves everyday for signing Adrian Beltre to that deal.

But they have Jeremy Reed and Miguel Olivio (uhhh wait a minute), two sure fire Hall of Famers!!! They can't be a mess.

Jeremy Reed: broken thumb. linky (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/mariners/2003107538_webreed05.html)

Seattle Mariners starting center fielder Jeremy Reed will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair his broken right thumb and will be out for eight weeks, the team said Wednesday.

Reed was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday after injuring himself while diving for a ball in a game on Sunday.

"Broken thumb huh? Wow. Come and see me after you've mashed your face into a metal fencepost."

I just wonder when Carl is going to learn to voice his opinions more clearly. He's way too timid.

P.S. So long as he kills Detroit in this pre-All Star series, he can say whatever he wants.

Yeah, the Sox were so stupid to go out and get that washed up Jim Thome to replace Everett.

Carl never had ANY problems here. It seems like he can't go anywhere else without having problems. Too bad Carl, Kenny isn't going to pick you up again.

It's no secret Everett has had a history of letting his emotions get the better of him, even when he's in the wrong. It's hard, too for him to argue his point about playing time when when he's batting .230, can't hit lefties and has little power from the right side of the plate.

Everett was a "good guy" here, probably why he still remains popular to fans around here even though its pretty evident the guy actually is a big jerk.

LipJeremy Reed is a leadpipe, cinch, lock, first round ballot, perhaps unanimous, Hall of Famer. It's already over and done with. It's amazing how so many of you don't realize it and see what a fool KW is for trading the "player of two generations". Only jeremyb1 has seen and espoused the truth. :?:

Even reality doesn't realize it--fate obviously doesn't realize Reed is destined for Cooperstown.

HELL--even Reed's own BODY can't see what was so obvious to Jeremyb1

So why is that? Did KW and Ozzie know how to handle him better, or what?
