Isn'ts this the same guy who got busted with a woman about a month ago in a compromising situation? The Cubune as of now (4:45) won't name the player who was arrested.

They're making sure the Cubs don't want to trade for him first...

The article says it's because he has not been charged yet. I did not check the time stamp on the story, I think they did not update it.

Or, you might have a valid point.......

How, may I ask, do you arrest someone without any charges? You can hold/detain on suspicion, but to arrest someone, they have to have charges. Of course, charges are alleged until proven...

Maybe you have something there, the Cubs need a middle relief pitcher...

Professional athletes should realize that anything they do, or they put themselves in a position to be accused of doing, will get heavy attention. The Milwaukee reference reminded me that during the four years I lived outside of Milwaukee, I could only name one Green Bay Packer, and that was only after Mark Chmura had the wisdom to go hot-tubbing with high school girls from Brookfield the night to their prom. Chmura was acquitted, but I was told he never played for the Packers again.

Individuals are routinely arrested without charges. I think police are allowed 24 or 48 hours between arresting someone and charging them, otherwise they have to be released. Even then, formal charging sometimes doesn't happen for several days or even weeks.

Well I haven't started the academy yet (July 31st) but I believe it is 48 hours to formally introduce charges before you have to let them go.
