View Full Version : Jenks 1 yr anniversary in the bigs

Bobby Jenks was brought up to the majors one year ago today. I can't help but fawn over his numbers in just 1 year.

Most players' back of the baseball card are as follows:

1st year brutal numbers
last year or two are brutal (usually injury impaired)

My point is how great is this guy gonna be?

So far in 365 days in the major leagues: won 3 lost 2

70 games saving 31/34 76.2 IP 62 hits 5hr 26BB 93K's

These stats don't include tonights 1.1 ip 4k 1er performance.

Jenks is 3k's away from 100 career strike outs! He's awesome and we're lucky to have him.

I remember watching his first game, he looked very nervous as I recall, I hope he continues this pace for years to come.

He is without question one of KW's best finds.

His first game, he came out, we were getting killed, and half the park had left. He proceded to load the bases on walks, and then struck out the side. We were like, what the **** just happened. :gulp:

I remember that day well as this is also my birthday... last year was my 21st, so I was watching the Sox that night... I remember Jenks coming in and throwing pure gas... he tried snapping off a few curveballs but had no control, they just dropped like crazy....

Already being drunk, I turned to my buddies with a gigantic smile, knowing KW had stumbled upon a golden arm.... Little did I know at the time that he would end up being a World Series hero and a future All-Star.... But, for the rest of my life I will remember that Jenks' (hopefully HOF) career began at 35th & Shields on my 21st BDAY!!!

His first full season in the bigs and last night on the Score's postgame show there was already talk of him having a slim chance to break the record for saves in a season. This kid is a stud.
