Extremely cautious optimism. He was supposed to do one inning yesterday before the rainout and is supposed to be a regular in the Charlotte pen after the break. His back has been better but he pulled a muscle in his side early in the season ... he would be a nice addition to the pen if healthy down the stretch.

Take your time Hermy and make sure you get here!

Out of respect to Dustin, Jenks needs to grow a beard and shave that crazy design in it!

Glad to hear he may be on the road to recovery.

In light of the fact that it's a serious back injury, shouldn't we [KW especially] assume Dustin's not coming back?

They're operating under the assumption he won't be there, but that doesn't mean he won't be.

I was a big fan of the "hey I have a full goatee... now wait I'll shave the rolls of my chin ONLY!"

Dustin pitched one scoreless inning tonight. The key though is going to be how he feels tomorrow and then can he pitch every other day (as the Sox want...)

If he passes all that there's a chance he's up with the big club after the All-Star Break with Politte being released.

I'd assume the Sox would want to bring him up sooner rather then later...the trade deadline is approaching and they need to know if he can contribute anything or not.

Good news so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The way Cliff has been pitching this year, it'll be nice to have a healthy Dustin out of the pen instead. Still, I don't expect to see him just based upon the reports that he was doing well over the winter and then couldn't make it out of Spring Training.

Wow...I agree with Lip here. No dark clouds. I think he hit the nail on the head here folks.

I hope not, I'm hoping KW can turn lead into gold again. The reds even with the addition of "everyday Eddie" still need BP help. The Reds need to make an appearance in the Post Season, they have yet to deliver since building the Great American Ball Park in '03 and people in Cincinnati are getting anxious. They desperately need pitching to get there. If Bronson Arroyo (http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=276520) could move to the NL again and be considered an "ace" i could only imagine what Politte/Redding/Montero(lol)/Logan/Reynoso could be considered in the NL. KW is defiantly shrewd enough to get something for nothing, here are some "somethings" i wouldn't mind taking from the reds.

Ryan Wagners (http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Ryan%20Wagner&pos=P&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=429842) problem from what I've read is two fold. He doesn't constantly repeat his mechanics and he falls in love with his + slider instead of getting ahead of hitters. So naturally hitters just lay off it and sit on his fastball. Both of these things are problems I'm sure Coop could address and fix in a very short time. Also he throws across his body and if I'm not mistaken hes had arm problems in the past, but then again so has Matt Thornton (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=407819) :D:

Chris Denorfia (http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Chris%20Denorfia&pos=OF&sid=t416&t=p_pbp&pid=456121) on the other hand is blocked (http://baseballanalysts.com/archives/2006/06/stuck_in_the_mu.php), hes been tearing up AAA for a while now, its ridiculous that hes not with the big club, but then again all the more for the taking right?

If Kenny can spin Joe Borchard (http://seattle.mariners.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=400021), Javier Lopez (http://seattle.mariners.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=425657), Jeff Bajenaru (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=434117) & Damaso Marte (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=150122) into Matt Thornton (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=407819), David Riske (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=228594), Alex Cintron (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=400090) & Rob Mackowiak (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=406670), then Kenny can obviously turn lead into gold. I hope we can get the mentioned names.

Bottom Line is that Kenny is an alchemist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alchemy) and that GM of the year award is as good as his.

Also on the Hermanson Front: He threw 12 pitches 8 for strikes, 1 ground out, 2 fly outs, no walks. I'm hoping he can come back in some capacity, God speed Dustin.

More News on the Hermanson Front:

Yesterday he came in for one inning, and preceded to throw 10 pitches 8 for strikes, 2 ground outs and 1 strike out. He then came out for the next inning and gave up two walks, but both were on full counts. He still has yet to give up a hit.

He's already doing better than Cliff did in his rehab stint.

Adios Cliff-a-roo.

Honestly, I'm really excited about the prospect of Dustin returning. A lesser man would've gone home and waited for his check in the mail, hes trying to be proactive and help the team to another championship heres to you D-Money :gulp:
