Detroit and Oakland are tied at two heading to the sixth inning.

Frank Thomas is 1-2 with a strikeout.

The Other Guy has been quiet, thus far.

Let me take a stab at explaining the August 0-0 record....One of our Latin players forged his birth certificate and is too old for the league. :o:

Or did you mean we'd be in third by August?? Possible I suppose since the Twins are playing so well, but I still say very unlikely. Unfortunately 2nd is at this point very, very possible.

It's nice to check the Tigers box score, but the White Sox have to take care of business. Scoreboard watching is distracting at best and counterproductive at worst.

I doubt if White Sox players know we're doing this. Nothing that happens on this board has any impact on what the actual team is doing.

Ah, I only caught the play from a distance. That's really got to suck to play only a game or two a week and still get lit up good. Kind of like Burke a couple years ago

Payton strikes again. The Tigers continue on their woeful road trip...

Unless you're refering to the fact that it is far below our averave road trip, I disagree with you. I understand that this was posted yesterday after two straight losses, but I didn't consider it to be woeful then either. Had we gotten swept that would have been a good word.

I said it about the second series with you guys, and I'll say it again here: There is nothing wrong with going into the home ballpark of a good team and only taking 1 of 3. Of course you hope for better, and you don't want to make a habit of it, but if you can avoid the sweeps you're going to stay in good shape.

I will say that I don't look forward to playing the A's again. Watching those guys at the plate is so irritating. They are very good at working the count and taking close pitches.

Oh, THERE you are! I was wondering where you were. And I'm happy to hear that you were not considering two straight losses woeful, but I would have been more impressed if you had shown up after those two straight losses and told us THEN that they were not woeful.

Well, never you mind. I'm sure you will have many more opportunities to explain to us yet again why winning one out of three is a really good thing.

Hahaha. Good post.

I showed up once after the first loss with time only to skin, but alas my internet has been out for the past two days, thus my mention of the post I replied to being a day old.

I really was disappointed with those losses. I thought we had both of them at times, but that A's team is just as scrappy as the Pirates, with a lot more talent. I just understand the nature of baseball, which is: Unlike the White Sox, you can't win every single series, so be happy if you can just avoid the huge slide that everyone has been predicting all year.

By the way, the two losses were in my opinion woeful. However, our road trip at that point and especially including the win today hasn't been.
