I apologize if this has been addressed before, but I've watched so few Cubs games in the last 15 years, that I just don't know.

In the 1980s, didn't the Cubs use the first base dugout as their home dugout? If so, when did they change to using the third base dugout?

If they always have used the third base dugout, nevermind.

The Cubs dugout at The Shrine has always been on the third base side.

Thanks for the answer. Maybe my memory is dyslexic. :D:

The Yankees have always been in the first base dugout.

Actually, the Yankees used the third base side dugout back when Yankee Stadium first opened. They shifted in the late 1930s. So Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig and their peers would have considered the first base dugout to be odd.

So there, yet another bit of useless trivia that clogs my brain.
