Tommy Lasorda

Saw good ol'Tommy at Laguardia last night. I did a double take as he walked past and was like "Hey...Tommy Lasorda!" (There was no one in the terminal or I probably wouldn't have bugged him) He turned around and shook my hand, told him I was a big fan. Definitely one of the more colorful and fun guys in the game over the years.

He looks a lot better in person than he does on the tube, even if it looks like he's long since sworn off the Slim-Fast.

Tom Lasorda once appeared at a Loyola men's basketball game. The Ramblers were hosting Cleveland State, then coached by Rollie Massimino. Massimino and/or Joe Gentile, both Lasorda buddies, evidently invited Lasorda who was in town. Rollie had Lasorda sit on the Vikings' bench with the assistant coaches.
