View Full Version : How long will this winning streak last?

The way the team is playing and the way things are going, we have to be excited as Sox fans. Just look at the Cardinals series; we score 20 runs in the first game, obvious win - 13 runs in the second game, win - 1 hit in the 3rd game and we still win!

This could be the trademark White Sox Eight is Great streak, but it feels a little more special (especially with struggling teams like the Astros, Pirates, and Cubs coming up).

How long will this streak last?

I say as long as the Sox are playing the National League. Is it out of line to think the Sox could go 17-1 in interleague play?

I hate to say it, but I really doubt that Vazquez will beat Oswalt on Sunday. Unfortunately, I'll be there to see it. hehe After that though, they'll keep it goin easily.

Though I was really tempted to vote for a 97 game win streak, in all reality I think it'll be 11 games. As long as we get over the 8 game hump, which we couldn't do last year.

Did you leave an 8-game win streak off the poll on purpose? We've had what, 5 or 6 eight game win streaks since April 2005 and could never pull the trigger on that 9th win. Unless you count the season opening victory after 8 straight post-season victories.

I agree with a previous poster that Sunday's game will be a tough win. If I had to put money on it, I'd say 9.

How long have you been following the White Sox? The answer is obviously 8. We are the masters of the 8 game winning streak and have been for the last year and a half.:bandance:

I really wish the Sox would make/sell those big foam cowboy hats they have at Blackhawk games.

Before game 3 of the Reds series, I called an NL sweep, so I'm gonna stick with that.

If that were to occur and we won the series against Baltimore and Boston, we would end the first half at 61-27! Also that would make for a 27 out of 33 stretch and a 21-6 June!

Wouldn't that be sweet!

We had that one 7 game winning streak last season. It just didn't seem right.

Nothing special, just my old hat was old and smelly, and I had a gift certificate for MLB.com.

This streak will end when Mariotti gets a clue!

And we all know that's not going to happen any time soon. :D:

Remember, Oswalt has been facing National League teams all year. He hasn't competed with the big boys yet.

8 seems to be our magic number.

We've done it twice this year already.

How many times did we achieve this mark last year? 4?

Well, we trail 5-1 with one out in the bottom of the 6th. We look lifeless at the plate today. So it looks like it's gonna end at 8 games today. The funny thing about this poll 8 games isn't even an option.

On a side note, why aren't we hitting this piece of garbage pitcher?? he isn't good. Yet we can't hit him in the slightest.

6 times last year

Three times last year during the regular season.

Two more times if you add the playoffs to the regular season.

We've hit Oswalt before, so I'm not concerned. Obviously he's better than an injured Mark Mulder and most other pitchers for that matter, but the Sox should be able to get some runs.

A true White Sox fan does not expect his/her team to lose. I voted 97 games.

BTW, today we won the 9th in a row for the first time since 1977.

Since each game is played absent factors from previous games, winning streaks are not determined by past performance. All games start on equal footing. There is no reason why the team can't win the remaining games.
