I'm sure you've seen it on highlight reels, but the Orioles tried to intentionally walk Miguel Cabrera, one of the pitches wasn't outside enough, and Cabrera got a game winning hit out of it. I thought it was awesome. Nice to be able to have some fun when your team payroll is about $14 million

Cabrera must have learned strike zone discipline from Ozzie...

Didn't someone homer like that off the Cubs?

I saw this too. JD's sensational catch was bumped to #2 in tonight's Top Ten, because this play made #1. I've never seen that happen before and I thought it was hilarious.

Yet another great reason why they make you throw 4 bad pitches for an intentional BB. That one wasn't bad enough.

Was that the first pitch he threw???I just watched it again and it was. That was the worst pitch to try to walk somebody I have ever seen! That was a cookie!

I saw Gary Cooper hit a home run in a World Series game in "Pride of the Yankees" but I've never seen it in any of the real MLB games I've watched over the years. It probably didn't happen like that when Lou Gehrig hit the second home run for the kid in the hospital. That probably didn't happen either.

I did see someone strike out what appeared to be an intentional walk in a World Series game more than 30 years ago.

LOL...well, when you have a chance to take a whack at a batting practice pitch, it's not a bad idea to do it.

Cabrera was just doing his Kelly Leek impersonation. Next, he won't let any of the other Marlins' outfielders catch the ball.

The highlights for that whole game had me rolling in laughter. First, :LTPgoes deep, followed by a shot by Wes Helms. Then Cabrera's slow-pitch softball hit...what a game!

Bo Jackson did that once. I think it was when he was on the Royals. I don't think it won a game or anything, but he definitely got a hit.

I'm surprised no one brought that up yet.

That was funny. And what a LAZY job pitching by that Oriole pitcher. If you're going to walk someone on intentionally, make sure you pitch it far enough outside. What a bonehead.

Just saw the play on Top 10. Pretty good awareness by Cabrera to be able to see that coming.

Was that Johnny Bench striking out to Rollie Fingers you thinking about?

Cal Ripken also did it back in '93, against the Mariners.
