I can't pick up St Louis radio, but I have to wonder if Rooney was tempted to yell "It's a goner!" for any of the Sox homers or say "That's a White Sox winner" at the end of the games. I'm sure he was at least tempted.

Either way. Jenks and Freddy rule!!! How about Reyes? He threw a 1 hitter and got a loss. I think this makes up for Freddy's game against the Twinkies last year.

As a Tiger fan it pains me to say this but I have a feeling the Sox will be alone in first place come early next week, at the latest. They are coming to Comerica this weekend and you guys put them in a bad mood. Cards have been losing and the Tigers have been winning and over the course of a long season things tend to average out, even for good teams, so I expect St. Louis to either take 2 or sweep. Sox just keep rolling.

I'll enjoy these last few days in first place. Go AL Central!

See you in the ALCS :gulp:

Some numbers from memory...

That's 7 wins in a row.

Five series wins in a row.

They did show a replay, and I think we caught a break. But it's hard to say for certain because the camera angle was askew. You need to be looking right down the third-base line to be certain. It was close.

First series I have been to all 3 games and it couldnt have gone better if I wrote the script. Big Game Freddy looked great tonight, looks like this rotation is hitting that rythmn weve been hearing about. Great atmosphere the entire series, but tonight felt like a playoff game. Lets carry this momentum into the houston series. Who ever said Bobby likes the bigger stages, I couldnt agree more, looked flat out unhittable tonight.

Man st louis fans have got to be steaming about this one...take it out on detroit.

Too late and too hammered to read the whole thread, but what a game! Blink and you missed our offense, which is so damn funny after the first two games of the series. The park was festive, again, and I give credit to the Redbird fans who showed up for further punishment. Favorite moment: Ozzie celebrating in a skybox. I'm looking forward to the new, sensitive Oz.

Funny to hear people in my section bitch all night about how "lackadaisical" Freddie looked as he was pitching his best game of the year. Hard luck for Reyes, though.

I missed the first 6 innings because of softball. I got back to the car, and when I started it up, the first thing I hear is Farmer saying "Here's Thome..." and that he could launch one here. Then....."SWING AND A LONG ONE...!" I'm actually sort of glad I missed innings 1-6, because my stomach would have been turning in knots and I would have been chewing my fingernails down enough to draw blood, hoping hoping hoping they would not get no-hit. I didn't even know that was their only hit 'till a few minutes later when they mentioned it. Great win ! Now, take full advantage of the suck-i-ness that is the Houston Astros. Oh, and Cardinals ? When you get to Detroit, remember: PLAY ANGRY !

I missed the first 6 innings because of softball. I got back to the car, and when I started it up, the first thing I hear is Farmer saying "Here's Thome..." and that he could launch one here. Then....."SWING AND A LONG ONE...!" I don't think you'll have to worry about that. Just having to spend three days in Detroit should get them plenty angry.

No basketball, no hockey, no football, no Yanks, no Red Sox.... They're stretched thin...
