I honestly thought he had caught that ball yesterday and the fans were clapping because of the great catch. That would have been on the top ten but what an attempt anyways.

I thought it kind of unnecessary the way hawk EXPLODED with his "put in on the board" nonsense when he realized edmonds didn't catch the ball...but is laying sprawled out on the warning track, clearly hurt

it was a damn nice effort

yeah I laughed at how bad that sounded. Here you have a guy layed out and Hawk yelling. What's with hawk lately anyways? Sometimes there is dead air and sometimes it is just DJ talking and Hawk Comes in like an inning later and never sayss where he has been

I was a little surprised they shot off the fireworks. I can't even imagine how much that hurt; I'm sure the last thing he needed after hitting his head that hard was to have fireworks go off right over his head. It didn't look like he had any idea where he was.

Why are you people SURPRISED they shot off fireworks. The fact is, Crede hit a homer. Edmonds not making the catch is secondary at that point. I thought he made the catch though, was socked when he had no ball

They're not gonna set off the fireworks on a Sox home run because an opposing player fell down trying to catch the ball over the wall? Craziness.

A-Row would of had it.

Heck, they should set off a second set for gamesmanship purposes. I mean if the guy has a headache already why not compound the problem. I agree that it cannot be easy for a player who just banged his head to have m-80's going off right over head in rapid succession. Perhaps that is why Edmonds was swearing while walking off the field.

Hey, Edmonds was applauded by the fans when he was leaving the field. It was a great effort. But you shoot off the fireworks on a home run. Always. I don't think anyone, on the Cardinals or otherwise, had a problem with that.

Yeah that attempt was Rowand-esque. Too bad he got hurt, but the fireworks have still gotta go off.

Plus Hawk went on and praised Edmonds for about three minutes.

You clearly haven't been a Sox fan too long.

Edmonds has won a Gold Glove award in 8 of the last 9 seasons (1997-1998 AL, 2000-2005 NL). I agree that the voting for that award is questionable, but it's not that far off.

He probably won the last few on reputation, but the man plays a damn good centerfield.

what I thought was priceless was the look of disgust on Joe's face as he threw his bat down after hitting that shot to left. He obviously thought he missed it but with the warm air of summer- its a goner!!

It was a thing /swing of beauty to see Joe go up and get that high fastball with that classic swing and high finish.

Way to go joe.

*** you talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Rowand can't reach the top of the wall with a stepladder.

1) Rowand runs into walls
2) Rowand can't jump up and bring balls back
3) Rowand would have been 6 steps from the wall because if bad routes/reads
4) Edmonds didn't hurt his head on the wall, he hurt it when he hit the ground and had his head snap back against the track.

Rowand is a mediocre CF'er. I thought people had finally realised this, but more irrational fan-love for a departed player continues to this day.

I don't think anyone, on the Cardinals or otherwise, had a problem with that.Well, the Cards did have plenty of opportunites to acclimate themselves to the fireworks.
