Another great game today....MLBtv is giving me all these weird blackout messages eventhough I am out at school in Hawaii....Anyways I wanted to know where I could find stats from the 2005 White Sox season. Does anybody know what our record was at this point last year. Just curious, thanks in advance!

You might have to do some counting to figure out our W/L record at the same point last year, but baseball-reference.com has the full 2005 schedule for each team, with results.

Sox are three games behind the 2005 team through the same number of games.

Good thing the Sox don't have to worry about catching this 2005 White Sox team.

Why they had a monumental collapse in the second half!

As already posted, the Sox are 3 games behind last year's pace. Not only that, but at this point last year the Sox were just embarking on one of their patented 8 game winning streaks. So, don't look for us to match the '05 pace any time soon.

Still, we're currently on pace to win 104 games this year.

I know the Sun-Times runs this year vs. last year daily, since you're in Hawaii I know you can't pick up the paper but it might be in the on-line version.

Go to espn.com, MLB, standings. There is a date at the top with changeable month day and year so you can easily compare records between years.

If you want to compare runs scored, we may have already surpassed last years totals.

Thanks for all the responses...hopeful we can lower our runs against a little and get back to 2005 form pitching-wise!

Yep. I'm pretty sure that the last team to repeat as World Series champion and improve on its record of the previous year was the '53 Yankees. (Since then, some teams have repeated as Series champs, and some Series champs improved their regular-season record, but none both repeated and improved their record . . .)

Good tidbit, I was going to say the the Yankees in the 90's, but I forgot they didn't win it all the year before their 114 wins in '98.

Yep. And they won more games in '97 than in '96, and more games in '01 than '00.

The Sun times each day has a box, called "White SOX Encore" that compares where we were at this point last year.

But I forgot we are boycotting the Sun Times

They're behind the pace of this time last season, but they have a higher winning percentage than they did at the end of last year.
