Well, I guess it's on.

We shall see how well the Tigers do this weekend against StL.

Ordonez has two homers, Monroe and I-Rod one apiece.

Rookie RHP Zach Miner now has his ERA down to 2.14.

Wow, Mulder's ERA is up to 6.09!!! 12 hits in an inning...

Good for them.

Keep one of the Red Sox and Yankees out of the playoffs. That'll teach them for writing in Cano and Varitek.

I actually enjoy visiting different ballparks seeing the Sox crush crappy NL teams.

Do we know next year's interleague road opponents yet? (aside from the Scrubs?)

Have the Sox been to Shea yet?
In 2004 Atlanta and the Phillies came here, so I take it we'll be going to Philly and Flushing or maybe RFK will get thrown in the mix (we went to Montreal in 2004 however.)

They haven't been to Shea yet. The Mets were in Chicago in 2002.

They're on a roll. It's great that we've only lost 1/2 a game to them in a week +, considering they've played the lowly Rays, Cubs and mediocre Brewers, while we play the above .500 Rangers, Reds and Redbirds.

I assume it's probably the NL East. The Sox will most likely be visiting Shea Stadium, since they've never played there, and they will probably also host the Marlins, since that hasn't happened, either. Either the Braves, Phillies, or Nationals will be skipped, since they've played each of them twice (in '02 and '04).

The Brewers probably threw in the towell. They don't have enough fire power to come back from ten runs down against a team like Detroit.

I fail to see the significance of the Tigers' win tonight. They beat a Brewers team on the decline. We beat one of the few good NL teams and scored 20 runs.

Which tells you more about the state of the AL central?

The Sox have a better team, are beating better teams, and most importantly have shown they can destroy the Tigers head-to-head.

The kittens have been folding against top-shelf teams. The season doesn't end tomorrow, so let us all just relax and let this year's ALC title take its course. The Sox will come out on top, regardless of how many basement teams the Tigers beat up on.

It's been said a lot, but I'll say it again. If the Sox take care of their business, they'll be there in October. It seems like all Detroit does is play their regulars, and the only player who gets rest in Ivan Rodriguez. Most of their starting rotation will burn out in the second half of the season if their career stats hold up (Rogers, Bonderman, etc.) and by playing their regulars almost every game, they should tail off in the dog days of August.

Rickie Weeks goes yard off of Zumaya to give the Brewers a 4-3 lead!

Zumaya came in with 2 outs and a man on first in the bottom of the 7th and gave up the home run to the first hitter he faced. He is their best reliever and that counts as another blown save for the Tigers no matter what they do in the next two innings.

Even on the team with the league's best record, the bullpen allows saves.

No, it's 1.5. The Tigers played Monday, we didn't. They won and added a half game, so they were up by 2. We can make it 1 after a win tonight.

Incorrect. Technically the teams have the same amount of losses, but the Tigers have won three additional games. That means they have a 1.5 game lead. However, it's losses that count, so the two teams are essentially even.
