Alright die-hards...I am going to decorate my 8-year old's bedroom in Sox colors - per HIS orders :redneck.

Are there any good pics out there of other bedrooms done in a Sox theme? Heck, any rooms of your house at all?

I bought these for my boys. Quality is ok and they are a bit pricey, but I had difficulty finding any other option.

I just bought a new house and am doing my rec room in a somewhat White Sox Theme. I'm carpeting the floor with green carpet like the outfield. The bottom 3rd of my wall will be painted like the outfield wall at the Cell. With a really nice paiting of the scoreboard in one of the corners. I will have my world series 16x20 autographed photo front and center with all my 8x10 autographed photos of current and past sox players. I'll also have my bobble collection on a shelving unit that will go around the top of the wall, along with some other baseball memorabilia... I can post pictures when I'm finished, probably going to take me well over a month to complete!

do not make a headboard out of jim thome's face. this might frighten the child.

Also no quotes from Ozzie on the wall, a kid so young shouldn't be exposed to bad grammar and swearing.

I'm going to do my basement in Sox stuff. It'll just be all of the cool things I've collected over the years put on display. (If I can convince my wife that Silver and Black are good paint choices)

In my basement I've made a sign that says "White Sox Record" and it's one of those things where you have a notecard with a hole punched in it and you slide it over a nail (like old school scoreboards). It is updated daily.

Here are some ideas that should be pretty easy to pull off...

Pinstripe some of the walls
Scoreboard Pinwheels
Go out and buy a bunch of posters and cheap frames

Wallpaper border is an inexpensive option. I used White Sox (and Bears) borders in my basement along with poster sized framed pics of old Comiskey (Negro leagues all stars, first and last games, etc). We found the borders at a home supply in Omaha about 5 years ago. Now you might be able to get it with the "World Series Champions" logo. The stairway down to the basement has various Sox pennants, signs and license plates on the wall, another inexpensive option.

Good luck on this fun project.

True and true. If you have the money to burn, that's sweet. I don't know about a bedroom though myself. If anything I'd have that be the backdrop for a basement bar. I can see it now with a few shelves of booze and some wine glasses in front of it. :bandance:

Hire an artist/painter. I had the Center Field scoreboard painted on my son's wall. It's huge, takes up half the wall. The fireworks are shooting onto the ceiling. Everyone who has seen it is blown away. It cost me about $500 though. Worth it.

I lucked out and found a complete White Sox bedding set at Value City. For sheets, comforter, pillow cases, shams, bed skirt, throw pillows and curtains I paid $35. The only problem is that since it's a closeout store, they don't always have the same things. You never know though. You might get lucky.

I used to that kind of stuff. Never got to do anything Sox related though. I would've charged about that much.

One of the cheaper, but nice quality items I got recently for my lil guys's Sox room is a 8' X 2' White Sox banner. I got it from a Co. up in I believe Lindenhurst for 20 bucks. Do a search on "8' X 2' White Sox banner", and you should pull it right up. if not pm me, and I'll send ya their exact site, as I would have to dig around for the receipt. Anyways, my boys hung it from their ceiling, and it looks sharp!!!

I did something that looks real cool in my basement rec room..

I used duct tape to make a black stripe down the middle, then surrounded it by two grey stripes, one foot apart, and did two walls like this in my basement. So my walls are in the same pinstripe pattern as the Sox uniforms!

If you do it right, and use patience, it will not come loose or bubble. It looks awesome. And it won't cost much more than your time!

Then you can hang your memorabilia and make your own custom shrine!

Now, that would be so cool. And inexpensive if you're into working with wood.

Or, make the scoreboard area into a shelf in the corner. Get a 3-high drawer set. Cuit out where the video screen is: place the TV where the video screen is on top of the dresser. Paint each level of the drawers like the centerfield stands: top drawer is the seating area, middle drawer the batter's eye and bottom drawer the wall.

I'll have to try this with my next gift card. Thanks for jogging my brain.

You could paint Michelangelo's Sistene Chapel on the ceiling and place a White Sox hat on God's head

I got this rug for my son's room. Also Menards has these "lockers" that are silver and black. We use it for his clothes and put white sox magnets all over it. Walmart has White Sox printed material that we had someone make curtains out of. And then of course put up all the appropriate memorabilia. Good luck!
