View Full Version : Breaking News: The Cubs Absolutely Suck!

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Chicago Cubs for coming out this weekend. Honestly, has anyone ever seen a more pathetic team than this sad group of so-called Major League baseball players? I haven't. And before any of you say anything about the Royals, keep in mind that the Cubs play in the inferior National League. If they were an American League team, there's no doubt in my mind that their record would be the same, if not worse, than the Royals.

The Chicago Cubs organization needs to be contracted. Period. I don't care how much money the franchise generates, or how many fans they have. The team needs to go. Not tomorrow, not next week. Today. I'm sick and tired of seeing this pittiful outfit send nine minor league players out there to get their asses kicked day after day, while the idiots in the stands continue to cheer, scream, and yell becuase it's what the Tribune told them to do.

Wrigley Field needs to be destroyed. I'd do the job myself, but that would mean spending time in jail, which as you can understand, I'd like to avoid at all costs. That building is nothing but a playground for the white trash of this country. These morons spend three hours every day drinking, pissing, and puking, and when they're finished, they go across the street to the bars and do it all over again. I hate these people.

The city of Chicago deserves better than to be associated with such a pathetic baseball team. The White Sox are doing their part to return the city to its glory days, but the Cubs just can't handle things on their end. Both New York teams are winning! Both Texas teams are winning! Why is it so hard for the Cubs to put a real baseball team on the field, one that can actually win a game in its home park?

I can't take it anymore! The Cubs players deserve to banned from baseball for life, because they suck at it. When people who work in the real world perform as badly at their jobs as the Cubs do at theirs, they get fired. The Cubs get a ****ing standing ovation from the morons who fill the Urinal every day. These people aren't smart enough to do anything else with their time, so they stand, cheer, and then they piss themselves.

Good gawd! The entire organization makes me sick!

I don't want them to be good, but at the same time, I don't understand why they can't at least be competitive.

Is it really too much to ask to win one game against the tigers.

Strangely, most teams can't beat the Tigers this year.

Except for us and the AL East.

At least make the games competitive. I don't know about Rogers today because I was watching real baseball, but Robertson and Verlander were not that good in the first two games. Any decent team could have put up some runs and won 2/3.

I would enjoy the complete ineptitude except that they have to play all our divisional rivals this season. They could at least sac up for these games.

Still, there is something fun about their complete collapse as the Sox become one of the dominent teams in MLB.

I think what pisses me off the most is the complete ineptness of the Cubs coaching staff. I guarantee that someone gave me a roster with Derek Lee, Phil Nevin, Aramis Ramirez, Todd Walker, Juan Pierre, Michael Barrett, Greg Maddux, and Carlos Zambrano, I could find a way to make the team competitive. They're probably good enough for 75 wins at most, but they wouldn't go down 12-3 at home, that's for damn sure.

Which brings up an interesting question. What exactly are they planning to do with Nevin once Lee comes back? It looks like they'll probably stick him in LF, as he can't be any worse than Bonds, but goodness. Don't they realize there's no DH in the National League?

Well, there's something to be said about this viewpoint. Consider this: During the offseason and right up until about the past month or so, many Cubs fans just seemed to kinda, sorta, aw! shucks, assume that this was THEIR YEAR because two teams--the Red Sawx and the real Sox--had gotten it done, so why not they? They didn't understand that you don't win just because you think "it's your turn." You still need to actually field a team. And the basic fact is that this is one of the most horrific, pathetic, pitiful Cubs teams in a long time.

I am devastated my 3 games of being a Cubbie fan has come to an end, I am really going to miss that team coming out and playing strong as well as the great pitching.:whiner:

Oh, please! Rooting for the Cubs to beat the Sox's closest rival and then being pissed that they didn't even come close is evidence of Flubsession? :o:

Bit of a reach, don'tcha think? If anything, it's evidence of Soxsession, which I do believe is legal in these parts.

Thank you. If Erik the Red would take the time to read through my posts over the past few months, he would find that I rarely talk about the Cubs, except for perhaps making an off-hand comment here or there. My reasons for starting this thread should be obvious: the one time any of us actually wanted this team to show up and play, they put together one of their worst performances, yet. That alone is enough to irritate even the most Cub-indifferent members of this board.

It didn't end there. Just last week some Cub fans were all giddy about their big three game winning streak.

... still have hope. This team has a ton of holes, and yes, I know it.
Still. The play of the last three days has been good -- more solid each day, and in addition to having their first winning trip since April, this is also the first three-game winning streak since April. - Cubbie blogger, June 11, 2006 (http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/main/2)

Not over by far

I can feel it, this team is about to become the greatest baseball story ever. Call me a crazy optimist, but remember last year at this time I was screaming for Dusty's sorry ass to be fired. 2006 is the year I have been waiting for. Starting pitching is coming around, D Lee is going to be back and Jim Hendry's about to redeem himself with a block buster trade. I feel It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - "JimHickman" June 11, 2006 (http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/story/2006/6/11/164557/086#commenttop)

Mark my words, IF the Cubs manage to string together three wins again, Cubbie fans will start talking about being in the race again.

Are you kidding. I knew this would be a sweep. I was hoping we would not lose any ground on the Tigers. Now the flubs play the twins and the tigers play the brewers. I am hoping EL Cabo will help us out.
Go Brewers.

If we keep winning, it won't matter what the Cubs, Tigers, etc etc do.

The Tigers swept. But they didn't gain any ground. That's how you have to look at it. You can't worry about it.

I thought too that the Tigers would sweep. I don't like it, but it looked pretty clear to me with the way the Tigers were playing and the way the Cubs, uh, weren't.

I take a breath and step back a minute and am genuinely mystified as to how the Tribune call sell out virtually every game in that place with such an embarrassingly bad team. I don't think we need any further evidence that the *only* attraction there is the yuppie Disneyland that is the neighborhood around the ballpark. I don't know, but if there's a "Wrigleyville" chamber of commerce or similar local-business group, they must be pushing all the right buttons. That ballpark is simply the largest of the dozens of singles bars around there. Certainly nobody goes there to watch professional baseball -- there isn't any to be had!

I guess  means that you don't think the fact that he got lit up today means anything.

Okay. So how's this? He has been on the disabled list since March of this year. He just came off it after also beginning the past two seasons on it. He's been in the majors five years--counting this one--and has been on the DL six times.

IMHO, the Cubs can have him. Lots of potential, but....

Most of those fans still think the Flubs have a chance to come back this year. Oh, once we get Williamson, Prior, Lee, Wade Miller, Wood, Sirotka, Bowa and Dernier back, watch out. We'll have a chance for the wild card.
