But whether Guillen likes Montero enough to carry 12 pitchers remains to be seen as Cliff Politte is expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday.

I truly hope he won't be up to his old tricks of this season...

I say there is little to no chance Montero stays up. I basically shared my opinion of him in the Sean Tracey thread, but I'll state it again, Agustin's stuff poses no threat to major league hitters.

I think the panic in the thread title is unnecessary.

Best to see if it really was the injury problem and see if Politte can rebound to something at least more closely resembling his old form.

A decent Cliff Politte is probably better than Montero at his best.

And if Politte does rebound to something good then I think the bullpen worries might be largely fixed.

Politte's season starts again this week, in my mind his ERA is 0.00 and let's see how long he can keep it that way.

I like the intensity, but this Cliff walked in the winning run in Detroit in '04. I'll take the '05 version instead.

Ah, part of Teki's "What Chicago Athlete would Look really 'good' with a bad Mustache?" (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=66290) thread this offseason. We had some good ones this year...

OMG, I missed that thread originally. I've got to read the Parking Lot more often!!

It's even funnier than the thread where Homefish made a chart that projected AJ's future batting average.

Great calls. Who does Frank look like here? There's some 70s character that's ringing a bell but I don't know who it is. Maybe one of the claymation characters from that 1999 Fox show the PJ's.

Archibald "Three-finger" Garland, 1897. A notorious racist and known for misogyny, he was held in high regard by his contemporaries and led the Philadelphia Ticklers to three straight Manhattan Island Titles.

"He amazed spectators with his filthy mouth and 63 mile-per-hour 'Archie-Ball,' making him the league's leading flamethrower..."

We had a good run this past offseason. Tons of irreverent threads spawned from the giddiness of winning our first title in 88 years...

As for Frank, I'm still trying to put my finger on that well groomed stache.

Oh man that's gold. And yes last offseason in the Parking Lot was glorious. We have yet to experience an offseason during a full-out dynasty. Stay tuned. :gulp:

Garland with that mustache looks an awful lot like Rollie Fingers facially.

Frank with that 'stache reminds me of a GIANT Gary Coleman.
That 'stache thread was comedy GOLD!!!
