Ha! Every single state but the New England states, New York, and New Jersey have picked Jose Contreras! We're winning this one by a landslide!

Meh, our votes don't matter in the Cy Young award.

Roy Halladay makes this a tough call, 7-0 or not. He's been equally unbelievable.

Mussina, Halladay, and Contreras are all having Cy Young-type seasons. One assumes that Johan Santana will be right there come the end of the season, but he will be hurt by not having a ton of run support.

I kind of like Bill James' formula for this: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/cy although it places Schilling and the closers too high at this point.

Why is Papelbon even on this list?

One good thing it does. The Mass. vote is split up. Afterall doesn't Boston have all the best players anyway? Yankees and Red Sox deserve all the all-stars because they have the best ballot stuffing system in the world. Why else would the Red Sox be on ESPN 2 or more days per week.

I am not a big fan of closers getting this award. I guess is there is not a deserving starter. I think there is going to be a deserving starter this year.

To be fair to New York and New Jersey, Jose Contreras is getting many more votes there than in New England. Jonathan Papelbon?!? *****!!!

I'm sure these ESPN polls have baring on the Cy Young award, but then again the MLB does let fans vote for the all star game. Wouldn't surprise me if the fans have a say in the Cy Young and MVP someday. But if that happens the award will become completly meaningless in my eyes.

We Should be voting for Iguchi and the rest of the White Sox to make the All-Star team and not some dumb poll on ESPN.

I have voted for the All-Star game, so put me on the board.

I noticed last night on Baseball Tonight that even the ESPN flunkies seemed to be sheepish when laying out that all the vote getters in the AL are BOS/NY except for Guerro.

Physician heal thyself!!!!!

Anything voted on by the public in sports is a sham....can't get over that hometown bias.

We should not have been the top story in 1998 or 2004...but we sure as heck should be now.

I's wants me's props....dammeeeet!:gulp:
