I can't remember...

Royals C John Buck (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=7056) was hit by Fossum's pitch leading off the third, but plate umpire Bob Davidson did not award him first base, ruling that Buck did not make an attempt to get out of the way. Royals manager Buddy Bell argued to no avail. Buck ending up flying out.

Edit: If I remember right I think it was West or Wendlestedt but I might be wrong..

It is one thing to lean into a pitch over the plate. It is another to just stand in the batter's box and let it hit you. I see no problem about not moving if you are in the batter's box. The pitcher shouldn't throw it there anyway.

If you don't wanna move and would rather wear it, then wear it.

Casey Blake took one last night that he didn't get out of the way of. If this is going to be a rule, it needs to enforced all the time, not just whenever the umpire feels like being a dick.

It's one of those ambiguous rules that there's no way of making uniform. I think it should only be enforced in blatant, Fernando Vina-type HBP's (leaning into a pitch).
