Why Jason Giambi is still in the league?

Didn't he and his brother admit to using steroids?

Yes, but only before it was against the bylaws of the CBA to do so.

I think because he basically admitted it and apologized.

He admitted it to the Grand Jury, but those records are secret.

I wonder if Frank said anything to him at first base after drawing a walk this afternoon.

Good luck finding any player willing to take a voluntary blood test. Sure they may say they would but when the needle comes out they find an excuse not to (probably throw out a union excuse).

That is what I hate. Sure the union is there to protect the players, but you gotta imagine that some of these guys would want to clear their names.

If I remember correctly Thomas and Thome both volunteered but the union went crazy.

Imagine that? The Player's Union has a problem with players trying to prove that they're actually clean!

:tool

"Yes... uh.... uh... the steroid problem is under control."

It doesn't matter if they take a blood test or not. As Dr. Beckett explained in another thread unless you almost literally take the sample immediately after injection there is no reliable way to test for HGH.

Not only that, but Thomas was "honored" to be called before Congress. For once Frank got heat for being a nice guy.

Oh, and that Thome fella has got to be on 'roids. He looks like a Superhero....
