There have been a few threads about this. Who is going to Cinci? Where are you sitting? And where can we meet around the park?

I'm going! And I'm sitting somewhere around the dugout, I don't remember cos I don't have the tickets. The trip's my graduation present from my grandmother.

I'm there Saturday; I think they are good tickets too - Section 120 Row AA.

If its not too hot I'll be easy to spot in my 1983 jersey, but knowing Cincinnati in June I'll more likely be sporting a sleeveless Sox shirt and shorts.

Anyone familiar with the row sequence at Great American Ballpark. Like is AA before A or after it? Do they have numbered rows before the letters kind of like how we have a couple rows of letters before #'s??

Saturday Sec 432 Row D
Sunday Sec 113 Row Z

Does anyone know if they have an upgrade policy at Cincinnati?

I'll have my father-in-law and four brothers-in-law on Saturday, and I'd like to be able to upgrade these six tickets for something a little lower as my father-in-law is 82 (although in very good shape) and I'd like him to be where he could see a little better.

I do not - I am actually unsure what plan of attack to take with Tickets for Saturday's game myself. They're still selling upper deck behind the plate on Ticketmaster right now. Not sure if they're terrible seats or not.

I've parked on the street for games at Riverfront / Great American Ball Park. The meters do not have to be fed after 6 pm (not sure about Saturday / Sunday meters). I found a space in about 5 minutes on a gameday. I can't imagine much going on in downtown Cincinnati let alone on a weekend.

Four of us are going for the weekend. Saturday night section 130ish, row O.

I posted this on another thread. Got this info from a friend that use to live in Chicago and now in Cincy. It's long but has suggestions for eat/drink.
*****************************************
The day of the game I would go to "Game Day" before the game; it is on
Pete Rose Way just east of the stadium - this is a newer sports bar that
should have a good pre-game crowd. OR better yet take the Southbank
shuttle ($1 pp) to the Hofbrauhaus (German beer house/restaurant) in
Newport eat and hang there in the beer garden then walk over the Purple
People Bridge to the game. After the game I would go to O'Mally's in
the Alley (talk about a dive bar)... it is in an alley that runs
parallel between 3rd and 4th streets between Race and Vine Streets. Not
sure what the post game crowd is at Game Day but it might be worth a
look.
For dinner that night I would go to Montgomery Inn Boathouse -
Cinti's famous ribs/BBQ place. If you really want to spurge go to Jeff Ruby's steak house on Walnut and Seventh. Having lived in Chicago I personally think they try too hard to be a Chicago mobster scene steak house but they do have GREAT food. You will need to make a reservation.
Friday and Saturday evening I would either go to McFadden's on Seventh
(walkable) or head up to Mt. Adams - a 7 minute cab ride. McFadden's
has a good Friday night happy hour crowd, they have a DJ later in the
evening and it gets a little clubby/college DJ bar-ish. If you really
want a dance club go to Purgatory or the Red Cheeta it is a short cab
ride from the hotel but I have to be honest, I have never been to
either. Not my scene.
Mt Adams has a least 7 bars to choose from - all within walking
distance. If you are feeling mellow go to the Blind Lemon - great
outdoor patio with a fire pit and a guitar player. For a band go to
Longworth's. The Pavillion has a great 3 level deck - inside is as
close to a "club" scene as I will go to. Nice place. My favorite Thai
place is up there too - it is called The Teak (they serve sushi too).

You can get Graeter's in the lobby of the Garfield Suites - Vine and 8th
Streets. Skyline chili is on 7th and Vine and 4th and Walnut. Another
fun place to eat is Hamburger Mary's - Vine and 10th-ish. It is really
kitchy- owned by a couple of gay guys. They just opened up the other
side of the restaurant into a full fledged bar.

Talk to Jenn, she got a room pretty cheap last week close to the park.

I went on hotwire for my hotel. It was 70 bucks a night for the Hyatt 6 blocks away from the stadium. Parking is 24 a night but i was told that there was parking lots around the hotel to that are cheaper. The option I choose for hotwire was like Riverfront or something along those lines. I want to say my hotel was a 3 1/2 star hotel. Good luck

Also it is about a 4 block walk to the park from there. I'm staying there saturday and just spoke with the sales mgr., thought I would share the info with my fellow fans.

Why dont we do that. Just to get something out there. Maybe for Fri night after the game? Hell even before. I know that my friend and my bro want to see batting practice.

So is everyone in for Rockbottom on Fri? Sat can be discussed Fri unless someone figures something out before then.

I will be there with a big group of people on Friday and Saturday.

Will probably spend Saturday during the day over at Southgate House, across the river in Newport. Real cool place, if you dig history. Nice spot to drink during the day. While you are sitting there, it seems as if Abe Lincoln is going to walk throught he door and join you for cold one. The place has been there since the early 1800's. You can also sit on the front porch of the place and look over the river into Cincy while you enjoy your beverage.

Is it nuts to just hop in the car Saturday morning, get to Cinci in time for the 5:10 (CDT) start and drive home after the game? How long does it take?

5 hours from chicago....yes it is a bit nutty!

I seem to find the nutty one's though to hang out with though so I wouldn't be surprised if I end up having a beer with someone doing this. Certainly makes life interesting.

I'll be in the view level Sat night behind home plate row L. Pre-game may be at Hofbrauhaus (in Newport) for the US-Italy world cup match. Would like to see Game Day Cafe as well but too much to do (art museum, canoeing, ribs, chili, drinking, checking out the water-front, etc.) so not sure.

Should be a good weekend!

I will be there post game Friday night. Saturday afternoon wherever in the Jenks jersey, Sunday in the Thome jersey. I'll probably be with Paco and a couple of other people.

I highly recommend hitting the (semi) original Skyline Chili on Vine or Camp Washington downtown for some late-night cincy-style chili... Whatever you do, don't get the Chili dog- they use mixed-meat abominations down there (this goes for the ballpark too), but the chili is fan-freakin-tastic.

Camp Washington
3005 Colerain Avenue
Cincinnati, OH

There is a small cluster of bars on Main Street downtown, most of the recent developments trying to bolster the area. Also Mount Adams has a lot of pubs and bars if you want to get out and check out some of the cooler parts of the city.

Can't wait to see Contreras on Saturday!

I did that last year for a game in Cleveland, but it was a day game. So I had to leave in the wee hours of the morning, since I wanted to get there way before the gates opened. Didn't get home until about 11PM if I remember right...

Me and my friends are also going to tailgate, i'm not sure what gate, prolly a cheap parking spot. People are more than welcome to join us, I'll be wearing a grey away Kornerko jersey and my friends will likely have reds gear. What time are you guys gonna arrive?

I've got to work Friday so I'll miss BP. Saturday and Sunday I'm going to make it and hopefully get autographs.

I second the Skyline experience...it's a must. It's the only place where 3-way, 4-way, and 5-way is an item on the menu!

Its nuts, but just confirmed that we're doing it (co-pilot has to be home for Dad's Day (has one, is one)) Section 115 BB. Is Gameday official Saturday pre-game?

Most of the people won't read this until Sunday night once they get back from Cimcy, but...

The Sox Army made it to Cincy and I hope there are more soldiers coming for Saturday and Sunday.

12-4 Win! One down, two to go.

We (my Reds fan wife) and I are 3 rows behind the Sox dugout tomorrow night. We are/were holding the "House Divided" sign.

Also posted in another thread, but worth mentioning here:

I'm flying into Indianapolis tomorrow morning and I already have my ticket for Sunday (section 120, row Z, seat 3), and since I'll be there in plenty of time for the game tomorrow night I'll see what kind of seat I can get (the sun/moon deck seems pretty intriguing, but wherever I end up I'll be happy). :bandance:

LIving in Ohio I can hear all the whinning after each game.

Some radio show guys were saying that there were fights in the stands. Not where I was sitting. I'd say in the left field corner was the most concentrated area of Sox fans.

My favorite part of each game was the "Let's go White Sox" chants. The Reds fans had no response...except to BOO!

My wife(the REDS fan) isn't to happy, but we are talking once again.

I also have pictures to post.
