What about something like Spartacus or Don Quixote? Sort of rolls off the tongue.

Doing something big earns an appreciation thread when it's over. You get a nickname just for being on the team

Speaking of AA..... :gulp:? Where's your sponsor?

That said, I like Absolut Alex better than Absolut Cintron. It's hinting at the connection, but doesn't really say it. Plus, it's not openly whoring an alcoholic beverage.

It was decided in chat tonight that he is really an evil robot named Sin-Tron. He is said to duel the Dark Gundam at some point with the fate of the world in said duel's hands.

Very underrated was his brother, Ole Anderson.

If you check the nickname thread, you can see I dubbed him "Absolut," which ESPn has already stolen.

Can we give a gold medal for most obscure reference of the day?

Nice one, bright boy.

How about "el diablo"? (its pronounced DEE-ah-Blow) it's spanish for "the devil" since he hit that huge homer on 6/6/06.

Another one I had was "caballito" i think it means little horse or pony in spanish.

Regardless of nickname, anyone think he might start again tonight? It's hard to bench someone after that, especially the way Uribe has been playing.

He probably will play cause isn't Uribe with his wife giving birth? (sorry to go Farmio here) I'm not saying Juan is giving birth but his wife, ya she is and Juan is with her. Congrats to the happy couple.

I think this is the No. 1 name for Cintron so far.

Do we have a "shortstop controversy" on our hands?!

My family and I noticed Cintron's resemblence to those good luck trolls with the long hair. I'm serious. slap some long wild hair on Alex and he's a dead ringer!

Cintron is da Man! Woooo, can't get that homer out of my head!

I would say no. Uribe's glove is so valuable not to mention the knowledge of his wife giving birth could have been something on his mind all season. Maybe he will return and start killing the ball.

Alex "Pants McGee" Cintron.

In all seriousness, Absolut Cintron is just too easy and too perfect to ignore. And I think every player is worthy of a nickname...but not every player is worthy of being called that all the time.

Eh, wasn't ol' Balsa Wood called "Kid K"?

Absolut Cintron, despite ESPN's thievery, has got to be the best one.
