Just to update everyone, Josh Fields RHP is leaving Tucson tomorrow for Great Falls to begin his rehab work. His objective in Great Falls is to get used to hitters again and ensure his pitches are effective against them. He will be going from Great Falls directly to Charlotte after a few innings of work. If all goes well he will be an option for Ozzie if the bullpen continues to slide. Josh is healthy, healed, and hungry to get back into the hunt for a spot on the Chicago team.

Josh Fields plays 3B. There was some talk of giving him OF time to possibly accelerate his rise to the Sox (given that Crede is entrenched at 3B). But a RHP? Are you sure you're talking about Fields?

Yeah, he's talking about the right guy. There is a Josh Fields that is a pitcher in the Sox organization. He's probably a career minor leaguer at best given that he is 27 years old and pitched in Birmingham last year before he got injured.

I would not discount Josh as a career minor leaguer. He was due a September call-up before the injury and Dave Stewart took the spot last year.

Dave Stewart

Ummmm, who?

You mean Josh Stewart? I don't remember Dave Stewart coming out of retirement last year...

Maybe it's Josh stewart? I believe he was supposed to be a Buehrle clone. He made the major league team 3 years ago but got hit in the chest by a line drive about two weeks into the season. He was part of that horrible 5th starter debacle that I believe cost the White Sox the division.

Either way...Josh Fields is back...

Ummmm, who?

Dave Sanders? He threw a couple of innings last September.

Here's an easy way to remember it:

Josh D. Fields = 3B
Joshua L. Fields = RHP

The Daily Inter Lake

Nothing like coming home to get back into it.
Columbia Falls native Josh Fields, who pitched for the Chicago White Soxs AAA affiliate Charlotte Knights last season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury, is coming back from the injury and has been assigned to the Great Falls White Sox for a month-long rehabilitation stint.

Im fortunate that they (the White Sox) let me go back to Montana to rehab, Fields said. Its the only place in the organization I havent pitched. I am very grateful for the opportunity.

The Great Falls team is in the rookie level Pioneer League.

Last time I checked, Fields had been added to the Knights' roster, along with Cornejo and an IF named Smith. Nomo and Rolls are history. Munoz was sent down to B'ham.

Fields should get plenty of chances. Charlotte's bullpen has been lefty-dominant all year.

Wow, could you imagine if both Josh Fields made the team? Now a big what if, the Sox still had Carlos Lee and the younger Carlos Lee were playing here. I think I'm bored. Thanks for setting the record straight. I did not realize there were two Josh Fields in the org.

And then we could get the Alomar bros too.

I was thinking this way because they had the same first and last name. The Sox would only have to issue one uniform for each pair. They would just have to take turns playing.

I know that Razor is going to give the ball to Josh right away as Razor has been a big fan of Josh since Birmingham. Josh should be back in Charlotte by the MLB all-star game and at 100% and have a fresh arm and should be an option for Ozzie.
