White Sox fans should be proud of ourselves. The way we treated Big Frank in his first trip back to the south side was great. We showed him how much he meant to our franchise and gave him a standing ovation. Now Indian fans are being low class fans in that they boo a man who hit 334 home runs with his time for them. He gave his heart, and busted his ass everday for the club. It shows you how good sox fans are and how classy we really are.

I wish everyone would let this go and stop patting themselves on the back.

A world championship changes people..
Jndian fans are jealous.

But the fact remains:
Both the White Sox AND Jndians let thier two greatest hitters go.
They both refused to pay thier greatest hitters.

And the Jndians didnt want to pay market value to Thome.

So, what i said was true...from a certain point of view.

Ya, from Frank's point of view. I don't think ANYONE is calling Frank a great hitter anymore. It's pretty obvious that he's washed up.

GREAT hitter? No.

Washed up? Not at all.

Yeah, I mean it's awful tough to find a DH who can hit .219 with 10 HRs and 26 RBIs these days. Frank is done. People clinging to the notion that he will ever return to a shadow of his former self are kidding themselves. He once WAS a great hitter, but now he's washed up.

I don't know -- how about in Minnesota (White & Sierra), Texas (Nevin) or Kansas City (Sweeny) ?

It's sad to watch, but it's true. Frank Thomas is a proud professional athlete who was one of the best pure hitters in the game. But though time and injuries have caught up with him, his competitive drive won't let him surrender.

It was a tough call for KW to make, but it was the right one.

Regardless of comparisons the WS fans have earned a reputation for being rowdy and rude to other players- you know im not lieing. So yeah it was classy for the fans to show their appreciation and Frank was touched by it. So KW didnt resign him. The fans love him for bringing Thome who is doing great things and they love Frank for the great things hes done. Indian fans should be happy Thome did what he could while there. Its sad they had to boo but as long as Big Jim keeps hitting, its what they deserve.

Just the fact that he is now compared to guys like these makes me know he's washed up.

Frank left with 4 million White Sox dollars hanging out of his pocket. That's not bad.

I don't know. If you ask me, ANY team's fans should applaud the return of a great athlete that put in a lot of years for them. It's an obligation if you ask me. The fact that the tribe's scumbag fans didn't fulfill theirs doesn't make us high class. We just did what fans of any team should do.

Big Frank did a lot of great things for the Sox in his time, and the fans reacted appropriately. That's all. Don't worry about other team's fans. :tsk:

Now back to work...

Actually the Indians didn't refuse to pay Thome. They refused to give him the length of a contract he wanted.

Why is everyone obsessed with class this year. As I Ozzie would say "I don't need class, I need wins". Let people cheer if they want and boo if they want. Let them clap and scream if they want and rip into players on the field if they want. Thome's situation in Cleveland is between him and Cleveland, and hopefully he will take it out on them during the game for the remainder of his career.

Besides, class is for boring, stuck-up, snobs who drink expensive wine and eat at French restaurants. Last time I was at a Sox game I had a Miller Lite and a hotdog.
