Atlanta has belted 8 hrs against the North Side AAA team so far. The series has also seen the largest crowd of a three game series at the Urinal. All for a sweep......

Bliss was October 26, 2005. The Cub sucking is par for the course.

Andruw Jones hit one over the expanded bleachers onto Waveland. That ball was destroyed.

Of course, a ball then got heaved back into the stadium and then fans went nuts. WGN covered it all. One of these days, one of those balls from the street is going to clock someone right in the head. I can't wait to see the spin on that one...

Stupid Cub fans are fully endorsing that stinker of a team by blindly paying for more tickets. I hope the Cubs sell out for another 100 years and keep losing for another hundred years.

Chicago will get its chance at more commissioner's trophies in the future thanks to the south side team.

Will the "House Organ" Cubune even mention the incident? Or will they mention it in two brief paragraphs as having taken place in "Lakeview," choosing to fill space with a photo of a giant snail?

We are overreacting. I'm sure you saw mistakenly, cheeses.
I will wait to read the Tribune tomorrow to get the full story. I'm sure this will get the same front page headline as the Ligue and Dybass incidents.

In reality, if this mentioned at all in the Cubune or Cubs Times, it will only be as a segway to a "hey, remember Bill Ligue?" piece.

dickallen15
05-28-2006, 04:10 PM
It probably won't even be mentioned on the news. If it happened at USCF they would have "team coverage" covering the "dangerous" situation with flashbacks to Ligue and the other Cub fan idiot.

Look for that story to get buried by the Cub-loving media.

Hey, I'm looking right now and it looks like the Urinal is half empty. I guess those great fans are already at the bars getting hammered.

Ask Mr. Knue - I'm sure he'll have plausible deniability (sorry, that was my Intermittent Tourette's Syndrome getting the better of me again - I meant "a good, rational explanation") for whatever they come up with.

Let me add that, if they DO publish an extensive account of this numpty running on the field, they'll go up considerably in my estimation (unless, of course, the said numpty is 'really' a Sox fan, and they link him to Ligue/Dybas - whose Cub-fan-ness somehow 'failed to make' the Trib's coverage).

The cubs were down a run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 11th. The count reached 2 strikes so what do the world's greatest fans [teal insert] do? They stand and start clapping as though they want to see a game ending strikeout. Am I the only person who saw that? Can they possibly be that stupid and uninformed?

I saw that too and wondered exactly the same thing. What are they thinking about?

As George Knue would say, that's one of the most amazing things I've seen. And that's saying something.

Can't be. I heard Hughes on my car radio in the 9th saying that the great majority of the fans were still there. Just when I thought I was going to have to settle for an ordinary defeat, they managed to turn it into Another Heartbreaking Cub Loss.

As a rule most broadcasts don't show people running around the field. I guess the idea is the fans who do this are just looking for attention and if you show them on TV more fans are going to do it.

Unless of course it occurred at U.S. Cellular, then it would be not only aired, but beamed across the universe and appear on every ESPN highlight show for a month of Sundays.
