I just got an email saying that a huge autograph show is being planned for June 10th in Chicago.

Members of the 2005 World Series Champion team will be there.

Dye
Pods
PK
Garland
Jenks

Bobby Thigpen is suppose to be there too.

The company I got the email from, is the same company that took forever to send those 2005 World Series envelopes. Good thing I got them two days before the White Sox came to Anaheim. They said they have a Thigpen all time saves record envelope and I want that but I don't want to wait forever to receive them.

So has anybody heard about this show in Chicago? Are those six players listed on any flyers about the show?

Buy yourself a Chicago Sun-Times, I think they are sponsors and they have ads for it just about every day in the sports section.

I remember seeing an ad for many of these players for a signing in Rosemont but it cost per autograph. It was crazy, the lowest auto was for Jenks and that was $65 for whatever, and JD's auto was $99 for an 8x10 and $129 for a baseball. Crazy prices.

Waiting for an hour in line at Soxfest doesn't seem so bad when you look at some of those insane prices.

The guy I'd really like to get an auto from is Tom Seaver. When you consider he's a 300-game winner and a HOF'er, his $69 autograph seems pretty reasonable compared to some of the Sox guys.

Your local library should have papers from all over the country. I read the sun times every week when I lived in Phoenix.

The local libraries around here are lucky to have local papers!!! I read most newspapers online now. So I don't get to see the ads and of course I don't have idiots columnists shoved down my throat.

Upper Deck will be giving out exclusive cards sets all three days.
Looks like Jordan, Cedric Benson, and Podsednik will be the local cards (and there's a chance to get a jordan auto too!)

Well that was only last year. I met Garland at Soxfest a couple of years ago and didn't have to wait in line at all.

With all the money Krause is pouring into this show for Sox talent, I'm suprised Fisk is not on the list.

Anyways, most of these guys have certified autographs in various card sets.
I got an Aparacio Fleer Greats of the Game auto a few years ago for 7 bucks...with shipping.
And with the Sox getting more national respect, expect more players to sign in products in 06-07. Not to mention more Game-Used items. Same goes for former players. I already see more Fisk items in a real sox uniform(it's mostly boston with him), and even Tom Seaver stuff in a sox uniform.

He used to attend these all the time....

Must have gotten offended by the guy who asked him to sign his Tigers jersey when I was there (no joke).

For Cotts, that's $10 if you buy your ticket in advance, $13 at the door. I'd hate to see someone show up and be short $3. And SMO lives within walking distance, so I will be there!

Wow, considering how late the game went (didn't it end around 4:00 or 4:15?), I wonder how many of the Sox players actually got to Rosemont by 5pm?

and if there were no-shows, i imagine mail order can fix any problems

Considering the game went 11 innings, the players all made pretty good time getting there...all, that is, except Freddy, who cancelled for a second straight time.

I was there, the show was okay, I drove up from Iowa to attend so I didn't spend much time there, just there to get Iguchi... Freddy ticks me off, I had 2 tickets for him...

Yeah, I got stiffed by Freddy's no-show AGAIN too. Not even a lame excuse this time. I think Freddy should stop making promises to card show people, because bad things seem to happen to him on the days he makes these committments time after time after time...

Including his Soxfest no-shows, this is the 3rd or 4th major event he's missed now.

It's unfortunate that Garcia didn't show as advertised, but I can't believe no one here has considered the fact that he was Sunday's starter. I don't think any pitcher would sign 500 autographs the night before he was supposed to pitch.

If that was the cause, then it would have been known at least 48 hours in advance. The show promoters wouldn't have had to wait until after 6:00pm to announce FG's no-show. In other words, I ain't buyin' it.
