The sox are the No. 1 team in ESPN's Power Rankings (http://proxy.espn.go.com/mlb/powerranking?season=2006&week=9&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos2) this week. Take that Tiger lilies. And that Taylor Hicks. Suckers!

Tops in power, but can't put down a bunt or turn a double play. I think we know where that gets us.

Good thing we're 3 and a half games back.

The Sox will not be #1 in the poll next this week if they keep this up.

I don't think being tops in a ESPN ranking is anything to brag about.

from the article:
We just need to see it to believe it, and the Tigers' time will come June 6 when they visit Chicago for a little AL Central showdown with the pole-sitting White Sox. Until then, they'll likely remain in the two-hole barring a major collapse for either team.

looks like they will.

They lost two games in a row. Not 12.

Exactly, and the Tigers do, in fact, lose. They're hot right now, they'll cool off.

Yeah. You guys are gushing over ****ing ESPN power rankings. I'd much rather take the lead in the standings then on some meaningless power ranking. Wouldn't you guys prefer that?

You know what I would prefer? That you never even come close to trolling these forums like that again. You've been a reasonable guest so far, but this post crosses the line of what is acceptable for a fan of another team.

What we all prefer is that World Series trophy. This thread had 7 replies to it when you posted, most of which had the sentiment that they didn't care. Since then there has only been one which bashed you. Hardly gushing .

I'll take the World Series trophy. Oh wait, we already have it.

I'm not worried about 2 losses at all, I was more or less stating that ESPn is looking for a reason to put the Tigers not the Sox in #1 on their stupid power poll. I think the fact that the Sox are 3-0 on the Tigers is the only reason they are not #1

FWIW (which is nothing), the Sox are back on top of ESPN's rankings.

Their comment: "You can put it on the board, YES! The White Sox lead the majors with 86 home runs."

Tigers are 4th.
