Since the end of last year people have been complaining about Jerry Manuel. I'm on record as being a huge Manuel supporter. I didn't start this thread to debate whether Jerry should be our manager, but just wanted to know who you guys thought was the best White Sox manager during hte 90's. Here's how I ranked them

1.Jerry Manuel
2.Gene Lamont
3.Jeff Torborg
4.Terry Bevington

Ranking them based on their records in the 90's with the Sox...
1) Lamont (258-210)
2) Torborg (181-143)
3) Bevington (222-214)
4) Manuel (155-168)

I'd still take JM over any of these other goofs! :D:

Lamont had some of the great Sox teams of the 90's ('93 and '94) ..... thus that disparity. It still pains me to not know what could have been in '94. Oh well..... I'm over that..... for the most part. Better not happen this year.

I'll still take Jerry Manuel over Lamont and that goof Bevington.

Favorite since I can remember being a Sox fan though..... Tony LaRussa.

I'll agree with the original order. Lamont to me was like Chuck Noll of my beloved Steelers. Laid-back and let the talent just dominate. Shouldn't have been fired so soon. But Manuel has instilled a "Never Say Die" spirit in this team, so he's the best of recent years. But if '94 would've been played out, Lamont would have been the one with the ring.

'94 WHITE SOX = WORLD CHAMPIONS**
