Ruth, then on his last legs (literally as well as figuratively), then playing for the Boston Braves, hit them vs. the Pittsburgh Pirrates. The last one was a prodigious blast that cleared the RF roof of Forbes Field and was an estimated 500 feet. The Babe then retired on 6/ 2/35.
