I would love to see the Royals play the flubs. I'm unsure as to whose worse.

Anyway, I knew the Royal lead wouldn't last. What a bunch of douchebags:angry:

Were all five runs given up by Rogers?

Uh-oh Tiggers!

Detroit is playing like Cleveland did the last 6 weeks of last season. We'll have to get rid of Detroit ourselves, just like we did Cleveland, it looks like.

I think that the Royals would beat the Cubs in a series also. I'm more scared of the Royals lineup as of right now than I am the pathetic Cubs.

Just think how bad they'll be when they unload their decent players in a month for prospects.

By the way Ken Rosenthal in this week's pring edition of The Sporting News has a ripping story on the organization.

According to the N.Y. Times they got roughly 65 million dollars last season from revenue sharing and MLB broadcasting / marketing money.

He says this is going to be a topic of discussion among owners when the CBA deal comes up, that major market teams are subsidizing the garbage and they aren't doing anything with that money.

LipThe CBA really doesn't have anything to do with it. As you know, there is already a provision requiring teams to spend this money in specific ways. Unfortunately, Snake Selig doesn't enforce it. Maybe it's because he did the same thing when he owned the Brewers?

Simple solution.

All revenue sharing and MLB broadcasting/ marketing money must go to players salaries, minor league player salaries and signing bonuses.

Franchise gets to keep it's gate, advertising and local TV/ radio money.

Is it a problem in that they can simply shift spending from one bucket to another?

I'm thinking of a problem similar to the lottery funds in the state of Illinois being assigned to education. That sounds good, and the funds do go to education. But that means that the legislators can assign non-lottery funds that previously would have gone to education to other needs. (Please -- I'm not trying to divert this to a discussion on education funding; I just want to use a popular example.)

It would be interesting to know what the different buckets are that are allowed by the MLB rules for revenue sharing.

<homefish> The Sox are a second place team, and if the season ended right now we would not win the division. The Sox might as well not even show up for those 16 games </homefish>

Tigers spot royals a 6 run first inning, knock out maroth. Thus setting themselves up for an exciting 7 run come back.

Fixed it for you.

Meant that more as a slam against KC, and not as implying that the Tigers are invincible.

I guess, this means we will have to take care of the Tigers on June 6-8.

Absolutely amazing.

With any kind of decent luck, with any kind of decent team K.C. wins two of three.

Sure hope the bastards roll over and die for the Sox for a change.
