Tonight's probables:
- Randolph for Charlotte
- Liotta for B'ham
- Rote for Kanny

The W-S website indicates Russell, but he has only 3 days rest and it's Torres' turn. I guess we'll find out for sure in about 30 minutes.

The Knights trail 1-0 but are threatening
in the 3rd. Sweeney is back.

The Barons will be underway shortly.

The 'Hogs trail 3-2 in the 4th.
Torres on the bump.

Amador singled, stole second, and scored.

The I's are up 1-0 in the 4th.
They release Whealy and are trying out

Birmingham won 5-4. Valido 1-4 with a sacrafife. Liotta went 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R all earned, 5 BB, 3 K, 1 HR allowed. Pretty unusual line for him. Lamura won in relief and Wasserman got his 8th save pitching 2 scoreless innings each.

Randar,

What's your take on Valido's struggles at AA? Overmatched?

Not overmatched... he'll be fine, IMO. Still making contact, walks are down a bit, but doing a lot of good things for the team. He may never be a .300 hitter because of the number of times he gives himself up for the team, but it does not go unnoticed by the organization.

Do you think the Sox have Valido pegged as Uribe's replacement in the field and Iguchi's replacement as the #2 hitter in, say, 2008 or 2009?
