I'd like to nominate Scutaro as an honorable mention for not getting over to cover first.

I'm waiting for the FOBB to explain that screwup.

I'm waiting for the FOBB to explain that screwup.

It was a great bunt, especially with a left handed pitcher coming off the mount towards 3rd, Ozuna was not going to be caught no matter who was covering

It's like teams that run all the time can't defend the pass. They don't practice bunting or defending bunts because they never help you win.

Without Macko's HR to tie it and base hit to keep the 10th alive, Ozuna never gets the chance to win it.

And without Ozuna winning it, Mackowiak's HR and hit don't mean much.

Whatever... without the HR we're likely going home with a loss.

Funny for me because I actually stopped playing long ago because whenever I won the contest the Sox lost. So, I simply made Frank my perma-pick-to-click and whenever Frank won the contest, the Sox won (just playing along mentally, having fun).

So here comes Frank with a PTC winning performance and the Sox still won...

Got to give the big man his props. He's done alright by me...

I dunno if I'd call it a walk off, Ozuna had to make it to 1st or the inning was over

Pablo what fantastic base running. What great baseball! That game was awesome. However Garland did not pitch his best game thats for sure.

Disputes with the PTC umpire are settled with elephant guns at 1000 paces, squirrel or no squirrel.

Your point? We don't even make it to the 10th without Mack.

Your point? We don't even make it to the 10th without Mack.

My point is Ozuna had the bigger hit. Whatever happened to get to the point of making the bigger hit is irrelevant. What if it would have gone 20 innings and the A's scored one run every couple of innings and Thome matched them by hitting 5 solo shots and then eventually a 6th two run homer to win it? Still wouldn't have been there without that Mack two run homer, but I bet you'd be saying Thome gets the PTC. Just because it tied the game to send it to extra innings where the next play occurs, it doesn't make it better.

Whatever, it doesn't matter, there's no point arguing, Ozuna won the PTC.

Your point? We don't even make it to the 10th without Mack. Both plays were vital, but the nod should go to Ozuna for being the winning play. Macko's hit was huge, but did not guarantee a win.

It's like teams that run all the time can't defend the pass. They don't practice bunting or defending bunts because they never help you win.

Both times with a runner on first (I believe Kendall the first time, Chavez the second), I said to my dad, "Don't worry, Kendall is slow as hell/No way are they running, they're the A's." Kendall was out, Chavez safe. OH NO 50% SUCCESS RATE! FIRE MACHA!

I dunno if I'd call it a walk off, Ozuna had to make it to 1st or the inning was over

but the def. of walk-off just means the game is over on that hit.. they walk off the field.. right?
