The ST article uses the events in Oakland (714) and the Preakness to suggest that yesterday was a strange and sad day in sports including the SOX victory.

I totally disagree. The SOX bashing of the Chicago National League Ballclub was one of the finest day's in sports. The White Sox didn't lose their cool after the incident and made the future Des Moines (Hill) player pay for it.

Great, great day!!

Link?

Unless you're talking about the dark-haired gnome who occupies space in the Sun-Times, I don't remember seeing that in a real article.

You are correct sir! The Sox displayed poise and class. I felt bad for the poor
horse in the Preakness. :(:

themselves as being sad at their utter love/hate relationship with Bonds, then yes, it is a sad day.

Come on ESPN, and the rest, you either love him or hate him, make up your damned mind. You practically condemn him to hell and make him the poster child for 'roids use, then he hits 714 and TIES Ruth for 1st loser and you love him. Knock it off.

Barbaro is a truly sad tale. Poor horse may have to be put down because of his injuries. Broken ankle in two places, I heard a quote that said if you or I had this same injury, we would be immobilized for 6 months, now do that to a horse.

Obviously, Bonds' 714th HR was inevitable with the bad vibes developing long before yesterday, so I wouldn't call that a "sad" occurence on its own. Barbaro, on the other hand, is truly a sad story. I really thought we had a Triple Crown winner this year after the way he destroyed his competition in the Derby. It is very hard to keep a horse calm enough to tolerate a cast for many months, especially on a leg. Here's hoping he can do so and live out his days as a stud. Not a bad way to make a living.

Yeah, and how can the Sox game yesterday be a "sad" or "strange" thing? Either the guy who wrote this is a Cub fan or takes baseball waaayyyy too seriously. A baseball fight does not portend the downfall of civilization.
