Seeing a total lack of any Barry Bonds threads on here, I thought I would start a poll.

Let's say you were there and actually caught Number 715. What would you do?

Sell it for the 100K and buy a new truck.

In the case of Bonds, I'd sell it to the highest bidder. No way in hell I'd give that slimeball the ball back regardless of what was offered to me.

If it were someone else (Pujols, A-Rod, etc) I'd give it back and just ask for a bat, signed ball and handshake in return.

Since it's Bonds, I'd keep it and sell to the highest bidder.

Anybody else (who I respect) I would give it back, ask for some tickets, a signed bat, and a handshake. (And the memory)

I give it back to him only after Ron Kittle signs it and writes "I sign for steroid abusers too."

If I couldn't get a hold of Kitty, I would sell it to the highest bidder. I think it would easily get more than $100k.

Does the phrase, ". . ill-gotten gains. . ." mean anything to you? Gotta keep my karma aligned when I can.

I picked $100,000 immediately as I don't know if someone would pay more for it for two reasons:

1. The home run does not break any record - it just leapfrogs Bonds over another hitter behind Aaron.
2. The vast majority of the public think Bonds is vile and thus the demand side of the supply / demand equation is low.

But there are always people with a lot of money so you may be right that a bid would exceed $100,000.

Sort of like a deal / no deal situation.

Would take any money for Bonds' ball. Would take any money for anyone else's ball, for that matter. It's just a ball.

As much as I despise the baseball HOF, I would give them the ball, to do with as they see fit.

I would give it back. I wouldn't bother to see him, I'd just hand it to
stadium security, say "here it is" and walk away.

I'd make as much money off of that ball, pay off the remaining balance on my car and student loans, and take a nice vacation with my boyfriend to the Florida Keys! I'd find ways to spend the rest.

Give it to Barry, or saw to it that it got to the HOF

It's history, and a HUGE part of the game, whether we like it or not.

I'd offer to sell it to MLB for 500K. 100K is way too low.

They'd cry and wring their hands and scream about greed and I'd just laugh at them and then I'd contact Christie's and have a real auction for people with real money. Screw Ebay...

Opening bid 500K Hey McFarlane, want to add something to your collection?

Edit: Oh and THEN I would donate a nice fat chunk to charity. Some of it to an MLB charity of their choice and some of it to a charity that specializes in helping teens get clean from steroids. I am sure they are out there, I would just have to find them.

I would pay my house off with that ball no doubt, maybe buy a new car as well, and maybe take a couple of years off work and travel the entire season with the Sox.

Tell Barry for $500,000 and 5 years worth of white sox season tickets (if i was a cub fan or giant fan or whatever I would want 5 years of my teams season tickets) also Victor Conte's direct number.

Take a stand and still make some money off it.

Throw it back and stand there flipping off Bonds as he rounds the bases. Then set up a website asking people to donate money if they think what you did was right.

Wipe my ass with it, and throw it at bonds head.

Give it to mlb or the hof in exchange for ws and asg tickets for life.

I'd blow it up and grind it into spaghetti sauce and sell it for $12.95 a plate to break the Curse of the roids!
