He almost had two picks in this game. Now if he can just remember not to tip his pitches on national television.

He has always had a very underrated pickoff move. Granted that its easier for a lefty to hold a runner on first, I'd like to know what MB's average pickoffs per season has been lately.

Edit: Here are the stats for pickoffs per season:
2000: 1
2001: 5
2002: 6
2003: 5
2004: 9
2005: 5
2006: 3

Plus, he picks off a bunch of guys that aren't even going to steal. He's the man.

WHERES THE MODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:dtroll:With his name, I'd expect a troll, but his posts indicate otherwise. He seems to really like Iguchi and Buehrle. (Iguchi has been his PTC both times he selected).

Wow! I didn't know we had so many new mods. It's really hard to keep track.

Re the pickoff move: Hasn't Buehrle been called for a balk already one or two times this year on his move to first? I was wondering if he was really doing anything different, or certain umps were being more "discriminating" recently.

Anyway, just his reputation goes a long way to keeping runners close to first.

I luv defense.

This year? I don't remember seeing him get called for any balks thus far, granted I haven't seen all of his starts.

According to CBS Sportsline, Mark (http://sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/174775) has no balks this year and only 2 last year.

I remember ESPN discussing who had the best pickoff move...and they picked Brian Anderson LHP. Not denying that he has a great pickoff move, but Buehrle was never even mentioned.
