View Full Version : USCF 05 WS Game 2 Wallpaper (for your walls) Is Just Plain Cool

I just got back from the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas and while I was walking the aisles, I ran into a couple of really good guys from Boston who have the MLB license for wallpaper (no, not for your computer, the kind that is 8'x12' and hangs on your walls). They had this giant spread of Fenway to demo the product and smaller samples of all of the parks they currently have in their inventory.

They showed me a poster-sized sample of their wallpaper for USCF -- shot during game two of the World Series. No flag on the field, but the shot completely kicks ass -- I think he said it was the first pitch. This is the link:
http://www.skyboxsportscenes.com/product_detail.cfm

The daytime shot of USCF is good too, but a couple of years old. No Fundamentals Deck in the shot.

I kept thinking to myself, I already act like I'm 11, so my wife wouldn't be surprised if I order one for our room (ok, not feasible due to divorce risk). My 3 year old daughter has the '06 Sox Kid's Club poster in her room, but there would be no putting the USCF wallpaper in her room either. But, my wife is expecting our second child on October 15 (will be during the ALCS: WS vs. Rangers?) so if it's a boy...

Anyway, their shot of Jacobs Field was 2005's final game there (vs. the palehose -- I also happened to be at that game). And their shot of Wrigley is vs. the White Sox as well. I suppose if I studied it long enough I could have figured out the date, but I had to go back to work.

As a Sox fan -- especially for a kid's room or den -- seems worth checking out.

It's nice but not for $400.00. Dang.

ever try to frame anything lately? hugely expensive.
$400 for the whole wall doesn't seem too bad.

Link doesn't work for me. edit got it nvm

Wall murals are pretty cool. $400 is pretty high as 8X12 murals go, but it's still pretty good for a commemorative picture that big. If you've ever seen a wall decked out with a mural, it's pretty sweet. Something like that would be kick arse for a basement bar.

Yea, that'd be pretty awesome for a TV sports room.

As much as i love the sox, I'd be hardpressed to put it in my bedroom though, but for a sports themed room, for sure.

No I just had a brain fart. The link says "product not found," but then you just click on the AL logo and it's right there.

8x12 murals of, say, an aquarium or a city skyline can be had for under 100 bucks. So that is pretty high, but probably high quality (let's hope) and longer lasting. I can think of a perfect place to put that, too. Eh, I'll think about it.

What's with the "Shy Sox" written under the logo?
Are they bashful?

Never mind, I'm just stupid - it says "Sky Box", the name of the company or something. LOL at myself.

Pretty cool. The finished rooms in the hall of fame area look pretty nice. I'm working on fisishing my basement and want to do something Sox related, but $400 is STEEP. Heck, I can almost put in a veneer brick wall for that.

Not about the wall mural, (which I didn't see). But I was also at the Hardware show. It's cool to see there were others here that were there. I was at a booth, so I didn't walk around much, plus I didn't get to go day 2, because of food poisoning.

Does fenway know his mug is being plastered across kids' bedrooms?

Too bad a lot of women would find that wallpaper hideous, because otherwise you could pretend you're "doing it" in Section 531. :redneck

Fellas, have you ever had the experience of a woman yelling another mans name out in the height of passion? Well, this woman was yelling out names of men who have never ever lived. Fantasy names.

Shes like, oh yeah. Give it, to me, Chewbacca. Work it, Spider-man. Oh. Oh, not in my eye, Papa Smurf.

And Im thinking, is she crazy like it says on her bracelet? Or is she just looking at my sheets?

Oh yeah, Hermie! Give it to me, Man Soo! Oh not in my eye, Roger!

Unfortunately it really was. I really didn't like that town, it got boring after 2 days, it was too hot, and the only thing to do was gambling. You really can't go to shows unless you are loaded, as every good one is nearing $100 per ticket. It was nice to sit at the bar and gamble, and get free drinks though. Although I pretty much lost more money gambling than I would have spent on beer, lol.
