View Full Version : Sox's ending record...

Okay...last season we were one damn win away from the elusive 100 wins mark (which I believe has only happened once...in 1917)... Through 31 games we're 22-9 which puts us on pace for 115 wins, one shy of the 2001 Mariners' record for most wins in a season.

What record will the Sox end up with this season on their way to winning their second consecutive World Series (hopefully with a better postseason record than that crappy 11-1 performance)?

As long as it's more than Cleveland and Detroit...

But for fun's sake, I think this is our first 100 win team since '17. I'll say 102-60. with those 5 pitchers, which we didn't have last year, plus hopefully a healthy Pods and Thome, which we also didn't have...I don't see why not.

I predicted 108-54 sometime back in January and it has been in my AIM profile ever since.

Let's hope that they get 117 and take over the record just like the Bulls own 72 wins.

i hate to be a homefish, but if Contreras is out for a prolonged period of time, I'll just be glad to win the division.

Damn, that sounded really homefishey...so what the hell:

you should of just bet the Sox would win more games than the cubs, for some reason all cub fans will bet on it. Oh I forgot who I was talking about...Flub Fans:D:

Outside of Pujols, all the talent in baseball resides in the American League, so the schedule works against the Sox. Still, looking back to 2005, the late season slump (with the injuries and resting players) was the the abberation. Before, and after that period, the Sox had a ridiculous record and that was the real Sox. This year they add even more talent to all that.

I like the look of 100 games even.

Or 108-54, because that's exactly 2/3.

152-10! The Sox lose a close one June 15 against the rangers, and that's it!

We're good enough even to win that 12th game.

Uh, guys, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, (ahhhhh! :D:) but I'm way too superstitious to take part in this kind of excessive homerism. This is a great way to make the BBG's mad at you and your favorite team.

It's a long season, and anything can happen, regardless of how great the Sox are playing right now. Remember last August, anyone?

If the Sox manage to win 100 games, they'll earn it. As long as they win the division, any win total is OK with me.

Quality.

I think we'll steamroll 'em 120 wins even.
