Why anyone would be a fan of this jerk is beyond me, but Barry at least sign the balls for the fans you have left.

That's surprising, I heard he was an nice guy. :?:

Not only is Barry a steroid-laden cheater, but he's a pompous, selfish jerk as well.

Would it have pained him to sign the ball for the guy? Geez.

Barry Bonds has no respect for the game (past or present), current or former players, or the fans. All he cares about is his inflated ego and his "stats".

How this guy has any fans left boggles my mind.

Given Mr. Roids past fan-friendly demeanor, this surprises who?

So this guy, a serviceman no less, catches the ball and ol' inflated head won't sign it. What a pr genius! I'm glad this guy was the bigger man and signed the waiver to be on Bonds' reality show. Now all the jackass Bonds fans that watch that show will see what a pompous prick their hero is. Oh well, that's just Barry being Barry.

I really hope the investigation finds some concrete proof soon and this ******* and all his steroid inflated numbers can finally go away forever.

I wouldn't be shocked that his head explodes when he hits 714 and 715 against the Cubs this week.

Isn't Bonds the same guy that wouldn't sign a team ball for charity, so the people conducting the thing had to buy a signed Bonds ball from QVC and have the rest of the Giants sign it?

That is what I was surprised about. This guy agrees to sign off to be on your reality show and you wont sign him an autograph? I really really hate Barry. I hope that he gets injured as he rips a ball 600 feet foul in his next at bat and never plays again, 1 short of Ruth's Record.

After he hit that homer last night, I could hear alot of fans in Philly chanting
"Steroids ! Steroids !" They kept showing his mom in the stands too, looking all sad that everyone was booing her poor lil' guy, as if we're supposed to have some sort of sympathy for that walking piece of excrement. The announcers kept trying to talk over the chanting and booing too. Pedro Gomez, reporting live from Barry's pants, stated that those weren't boos, but everyone OOOOing and AHHHHing over Barry's magnificence.

When ESPN showed the highlights last night on TV they dubbed the announcers voice over it so that you couldn't hear the crowd booing. ESPN sucks as much as Bonds.

And AFTER the game, ESPN (Enhanced steroid performer's network) had his live press conference/suckfest on TWO of their channels, and Morgan and Miller used the word "Ruthian" till I wanted to vomit. I watched about 5 minutes of the suckfest to see how big of an ******* he would make of himself, but most of those reporters were too busy kissing his ass and asking him about his conversations with his mommy.. I guess no other athletes have mothers, just Bonds.

Hopefully his knee blows out before then and he can never play again.

So, since when did we become judge, jury, and excecutioner?
Bonds has never tested positive for steroids. He is one of (if not THE) greatest players to ever play the game. Give the guy some slack. I'm sure he had a perfectly good reason not to sign the ball.

No teal necessary.

The funny thing is he still talks to all of the ESPN guys (and everyone else at the press conference) like they are lowest beings on earth. I don't even think his kids want to talk to him with his inflated ego (and head.)

Why does this guy want the ball signed, so he can sell it for even more money? The ball alone is enough, im surprised bonds didnt demand it back tho

I didn't read the story. Was this a white guy he wouldn't sign for?

I didn't read the story. Was this a white guy he wouldn't sign for?

His name is Steve Oliveras, a 25 year old from Puerto Rico and an active member of the United States Air Force.

Worst part of the story -

When the media and Phillies security discovered he caught the ball, other Phillies fans -- many who spent the series jeering the sullen slugger -- started yelling for him to throw the ball back.

When and why did Barry Bonds pick up this "Me against the World" attitude? You've been cheating, you got caught, stop acting like you did nothing wrong! And so what if Mark McGwire did it and almost "get away" with it? He's feeling the affects of it now. And just because someone before you cheated, it doesn't make it OK for you to do it!

Police: "Ahhh yeh, Mr. Bonds, you're under arrest for the murder of John Doe."

Barry (in his lil whiny voice): "But officer, Mark McGwire used to kill people and no one said anything to him! Why me?!"

When a team that has a greater losing tradition than even the Cubs has fans that start to emulate Cubs fans, America has an identifiable problem.

I don't get it, but, then again, maybe I won't. I Googled Raja Bell and saw that he is a basketball player. That's all I know.

Haha sorry it your quote just reminded me of the recent verbal spat between Raja Bell and Kobe Bryant in the playoffs series between the Phoenix Suns and LA Lakers. Kobe and Raja Bell went at it all series and Bell actually got suspended for game 6 for clothelining Kobe in game 6. Anyways they interviewed both players and that both had som epretty funny quotes. Kobe called Raja a kid even though Raja is 2 years older than Kobe and Raja called Kobe an arrogant, selfish pompous individual.

Now this fan is trying to cover for the jackass too, in the press conference he asked Bonds if he would sign the ball. I don't know if he was being serious or not, but the polite answer in any case would've been a simple "yes". Instead Bonds gave an odd smirk and stayed silent.

Gotcha. If I were a little more NBA smart, I would've gotten it.

You know what would be awesome? If the guy(or girl) who caught #714 threw it back.

I know we're not about throwing baseballs back here at WSI and I would never condone it in another situation, but come on...that would be the perfect response. I would give up any money, any fame, anything I could otherwise gain from that ball, just to be able to say I threw Barry Bonds' 714th home run back on the field. It would be glorious.

It would be a lot more fun to throw that ball into a wood chipper.

Personally, I'd stick a syringe in it and then display it in an art museum.

Well he did let the guy keep the ball. Most guys would ask for the ball back for a keepsake. He said he wasn't going to ask the guy for it back and said "maybe the guy could get rich off of it...at least I would if I were him". I swear, everyone wants to make Bonds seem like a jackass and find the littlest things to blast him on. If you don't like him, fine. Don't pay attention to him.

What would be better would be to have a marker and write cheater on it before you threw it back so Bonds would have that on his #714 ball.

He "let" him keep the ball ? Wow. That sure was nice of him. Everyone doesn't want to make Bonds seem like a jackass. He does that quite well on his own, in addition to being a cheating, lying, egomaniacal, rude, racist, ignorant jerk. He's denigrated my favorite game by filling his body with all sorts of illegal performance enhancing drugs, so he could taint and make meaningless one of the most cherished records in pro sports.
