The sox can't afford to mess this up- the sox can't afford to lose this guy. I was nervous last year when the yankees were talking about trying to lure him over or just stealing him, luckily that did not happen. He has the midas touch with this staff- if he can't help a pitcher than that pitcher is beyond all hope

No Way Coop would go anywhere when he gets a chance to coach this pitching staff.

Don Cooper has been with the Sox for over fifteen years, I doubt he is going anywhere soon.

-I do not think he would leave but money does talk and he is from New York I believe-the atlanta pitching coach left this year. I do not think he would leave but the sox can't affrd to lose him.

He's preached his loyalty to the Sox over and over again. The Yankees went after him and he declined.....and Coop is a NY guy

Think Coop would be considered for some Managers jobs?

I really don't think so. It doesn't seem like his thing. Can you really see Coop dealing with the media everyday?

I agree it doesn't seem like something he would like to do. I love listening to Coop talk, he is never short on something funny to say.

Coop has it to good here with this pitching staff, he would have to be crazy to want to leave. Besides, KW would not let it happen nor the rest of the management.

Leo Mazzone left Atlanta for the chance to coach under a guy who's one of his longest and best friends. I'm not saying Coop couldn't be stolen with a ton of $$$, but I don't believe Kenny/Ozzie/Jerry will let themselves get put in that position.

Think Frankensteinbrenner hasn't noticed how he helped guys that he jettisoned straighten out? The Count and now JaVa? They better sign him up. Steinnie likes to pillage just to weaken the opposition.

what is his current contract?

Not sure of the finances, but I believe it expires after this season.

I can't imagine Ozzie, Kenny, Jerry, etc letting this man go. And I've never heard Cooper say anything that would make me think he isn't happy with the Sox, so I have all the confidence in the world he'll be back.
