Correct me if I'm wrong, but we had won eight in a row at USCF prior to Friday's loss. It seems that getting win No. 9 in any kind of streak is hard to get. We all know about eight game winning streaks and how the ninth game is a loss. We had also won eight in a row at Jacobs Field before losing on Tuesday.

Using this logic, I guess our next ALDS loss will occur in Game 3 of the 2008 ALDS. The next loss in the ALCS will occur Game 1 of the 2008 ALCS. And the next World Series game loss will be Game 1 of the 2008 World Series. Can't complain about that, can we?

Maybe that is a harbinger of good things to come with regards to winning streaks of any kind.

But win #9 wasn't a regulation 9-inning game, so it doesn't count and ends the streak. Also, tonights game was blown in the top of the "9th"... You see what's happening...

9th circle: Treachery. It is divided into four sections. The sinners are in a frozen lake, The Cell. This circle is surrounded by the Asshats. One of them, ESPN, takes Ozzie and Kenny and puts them down into the ice.
1) Magglios: Traitors to Kin. These are immersed in the ice with head down. Ozzie talks to Jerrmiscione de' Reinsdorf.
2) Dark Clouds: Traitors to Homeland. Ozzie sees one who keeps biting on another's head. He is Count Everett who is gnawing the Archbishop Thome's head. He tells Ozzie the account of his death.
3) Bandwagoneers: Traitors to Guests. They are head up in the ice, which is freezing their eyes. Ozzie talks to Frank Thomas, who is there while his body is still alive, for having killed his guests as he invited them for dinner.
4) Cubunators: Traitors to Benefactors. These sinners are completely immersed into the ice. The ice of the 9th circle is kept frozen by Lucifer's six flapping wings. Lucifer has three faces, with three mouths, each chewing on Skoal: Jerry Manuel is in the middle mouth with his head inside, Bill Veeck and Comiskey are in the side mouths, with their heads hanging out...

or something..

Wasn't this year's opener the ninth in a nine-game streak?

that was interesting if not incorrect--one does not chew skoal but rather dips it
