My vote goes to Vladimir.... but then again we might see warnings handed down before the game even starts so I guess we'll see....

BTW... Did anyone else want to see Escobar hit by a screaming liner straight back at the mound? I know I sure did...

No one, just show them with our game. The game is much more important than some stupid BS the Angels want to start. Get out of there with a sweep and a 4-2 west coast roadtrip instead; the Angels can play their little girlie games by themselves.

Best way to get retaliate against Escobar is to hang him with an "L", which is what happened. We will also take the series, maybe sweep! At least Escobar didn't throw at AJ's head. We're even. I don't think anything will happen.

I'd be willing to bet that both benches get warned before the game that any funny stuff will result in ejections. If that happens, I think Ozzie is too smart to take a chance on getting Garland suspended for one or more games. So he'll probably just forget about it---until things calm down a mite. After all, we do play them again.

Well, we'll soon see.

Nobody. Champions don't play that game, only losers play that. Also, MLB would probably force Jon to miss a start or two if they feel it was a retaliatory strike. Remember, the Demons, I mean Angels, are here on the next homestand. The best revenge is to make sure they are no longer first in the AL West when we are done with them.

now that guillen's gone public with being very upset about last nights incident, i think we shouldn't...

but if garland were to take matters into his own hands, i wouldn't keep him from taking adam kennedy's face off... (the face he copied off of paul konerko no less!)

or we could just hand em a nice shellackin' (sp?)

hehe..found this... http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=take%20a%20shellacking

I think Garland will want to nail someone. He is old-school that way. In a way I hope they do warn them before the game which takes it out of garlands hands.

In a way I really think the warnings last nite worked out good for Jose. He could stay in the groove and not worry about hitting a guy and the way they steal on him , it could have been the tying run.

The one guy I do not want on base is figgins. he is absolutely one of the toughest hitters in the league.

He just fouls off pitches til he gets the walk. If garland can keep him off base it will be a major victory and the sox will win.

From an article at ChicagoSports.com

"Escobar, who had Pierzynski's baseball card hanging in his locker stall during spring training, claimed innocence.

"That's one guy on the team I don't want to hit, because of all the controversy," said Escobar, who left after five innings because of a blister on his right middle finger. "I know they think I did it on purpose. I didn't. I knew they were saying things from the dugout. They can say whatever they want."

Can you say stalker? With 2 outs and nobody on base???? He had great control the entire time he was pitching but he didn't mean it. Whatever!!!! I agree lets beat them on the field. I bet A. J. just loves this. Gets his competitive juices flowing.

It definately wasn't an accident...maybe he was just trying to throw it behind him and it got him, but he was at least trying to scare him. This guy is a huge idiot, he said at the end of February that he does not like AJ at all, then he goes and says this is the last guy I want to hit because of "controversy". The only "controversy" is you, you prick.

yeah.. i mean i understand the people who are saying that "real champions" just worry about the game on the field; but i don't agree with that statement. "Real teammates" have each others' backs and let the rest of the league know who they're dealing with. I definately do not think this is something that should end up resulting in a suspension; but i'm not sure that letting it go sends the right message either. JG should inform the Anaheim Angels today, that they can kindly **** themselves...

Can we PLEASE not get into a p*ssing match by hitting someone today?? Just suck it up...if you need a reason to keep your cool...Look down on your ring finger Sox players...that lil beauty on there should help you do that.

I just don't want to have our team get a bad rep for headhunting...I don't want them to be pushovers either...

LETS GET THAT SWEEP TODAY!!!

Yes, that would be amazing. And considering the tough start by Jon, I don't want him giving any extra baserunners because Escobar is an idiot. Just pitch a great game, and that will stick it to them.

I agree. Let something this blatant go by and it is saying to the rest of the league you'll just roll over and take it. Maybe we don't do it today, but it will/should happen. World Champions don't take **** from anybody. I'm not advocating throwing at someone first, but there's got to be some retaliation when it is this obvious.

The best way for Garland to get revenge is for him to shut down the Angels offense and put up a quality start and a win.

Garland is having enough trouble as it is. Look at his 7+ ERA. We are up against Santana today, who has now overtaken Johan as the best Santana in the league. The absolute last thing we need is a free Angels baserunner. We'll be hard-set to win even without that, why make things more difficult?

As much as I would love to plunk Erstad, Figgins, or Anderson, I think the Sox should show a little more class than to hit the first guy up. Hawk put it perfectly last night: Escobar got shown up in the playoffs because he made two bonehead plays (especially the tag that wasn't). If he wants to be a whiner and hit A.J., who really had nothing to do with either of the calls except running to first base, then let him sit with his 1-7 record vs. the Sox and think he's hot stuff. Contreras threw a little inside with the first pitch the next inning, backed the guy off. If anything, have Garland give someone a little chin music so they bail out on their butt. No sense in getting someone fined, suspended, or a beef with the umps over something so petty.

Jesus, HomeFish. Get a grip. You act like we're facing Cy Young himself.

Let me guess: you were worried about how waving to the crowd at the Championship parade was going to negatively affect the starters in 2006, too.

I think the umps blew the whole thing out of proportion last night with their stinking warning.

The pitch was probably intentional but it wasn't at his head. I don't like how MLB has taken away the inside of the plate. Let the pitchers throw inside.

I think the umpires make the situation worse by not letting the players play and I think Hawk needed to calm down last night as that was all he talked about the rest of the game.

If you are going after a guy's head, if you've hit a few hitters intentionally (for example the Giants game last week) than an umpire needs to step in and a suspension may be warranted.

Escobar shouldn't have talked about this in the offseason which is another reason this has been hyped and he IS a bonehead for talking about seeking revenge. The Sox should have been allowed to plunk someone, then the clubs would be even and this would be over. Instead this will linger for far longer than it should.

Go easy guys... some of us are still adjusting to the White Sox's remarkable dominance...

you can't just quit being a dark cloud cold turkey... you need time and more importantly the patience and support of your friends...

...in the end, the WSeries banner will sink in, and dclouds everywhere will begin to notice everything we do better than other teams...which is pretty much everything, btw
