Great game tonight.

Being that tonights game was televised on WGN, did any of you notice that everytime they showed the scores of other games across the bottom of the screen, they showed the result of Friday's game against the Cubs and Brewers, in which the Cubs won 6 - 2? They showed the scores of all of Saturday's games, except the Cubs game. As you all probably know, the Cubs got hammered by the Brewers on Saturday, 16 - 2. Could it be that WGN did not want us Sox fans to see how bad their beloved Cubbies got beat? Also, at the end of the Sox game, the final totals WGN put on the screen showed the Angels beating the Sox 2 - 1.

Do you think this was intentional or just a screw up by the technicians at WGN? I am not trying to make a big deal over this, I am just asking what you think.

I saw that too! I wonder if Hangar saw it. I am sure he'll show restraint.

I saw that too, and immediatly thought of Hangar jumping out of his seat screaming "CONSIPRACY!! CONSPIRACY!!!!!!!"

Lucky for him, Hangar is out in Anaheim at the games and didn't WGN's little miscue. However, when he comes back and sees this thread, I'm sure he'll have plenty to say about "the conspiracy!"

I hear the entire city of Anaheim is a conspiracy. Hangar will have his hands full.:D:

If you're referring to the pro-Cub/Anti sox consipiracies/paranoia/Flubsession on WSI, then I certainly agree. Actually, it got embarrassing about 5 months ago. And now it's invaded the Clubhouse.

I've been told to "stay out of the Parking Lot" several times if I don't want to read poop like this. Now it's in the Clubhouse. :?:

I knew they had lost 16-2, but I've been kinda outta the loop today (studying for finals - fun!), so thought maybe they played a doubleheader. However, after about the 5th time through, I realized they didn't show the 16-2 drubbing, so it must have been a misprint. Naturally I thought of the in-depth analysis Henry (Hangar) would surely provide of the conspiracy at hand.

On a side note regarding WGN broadcasts- Is anyone else fed up with how poorly they are produced? They are always one pitch behind coming back from commericals (which has been discussed here previously), but their camerawork has been porous of late as well. On many balls hit to right-field, the camera will focus on center-field, leaving me to believe the ball was hit into the gap. Instead, these end up being routine flyballs to right-field.

Not to mention that if you're not in the Chicago area and you're getting the nationwide WGN feed you keep getting the SAME DAMN COMMERCIALS at every break! Honestly if I see that Miller Lite "Hands Across America" commercial one more time...

The Miller High Life scoreboard in the 8th inning had the score right. Wasn't Friday's Cub game a 6-2 winner for the North Siders? I noticed the mistake too and first said ***, but I don't think even WGN is dumb enough to deliberately mis-state a baseball score, especially involving their beloved Cubbies. Everyone already knows what happened.

I also got tired of that commercial where the lady throws a big bottle of pickles against a wall and it explodes.:D:

I can't imagine Hangar's reaction when Escobar hit AJ. I wouldn't blame him though. I think everyone was pissed.

To fuel the conspiracy theorists even more- Last night Hawk said something along the lines of "A couple of teams put up some big numbers today." Then he gave the Tigers score and just kinda stopped talking. It was like someone told him not to mention another team that got crushed. Honestly though, I really don't think there's some vast conspiracy, I think it was just a coincidence...or was it?

Also, I saw this little nugget in today's edition of the world's greatest newspaper:
Escobar was the pitcher when Josh Paul dropped a third strike to Pierzynski in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series
I wonder if this guy's gonna be fired for mistakenly writing that Josh Paul dropped the third strike and not that AJ and the Sox cheated?

Here's a link (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-0604300238apr30,1,636964.story?coll=chi-sportsnew-hed) to that story.

We get that stupid commercial in the Chicago market as well, non-stop!

What makes this strange is the fact that Dan Rohn just gave all the scores including the correct score of the Cubs game on the White Sox pre game show.

Unless the scoreboard graphics are done back in Chicago and not in the truck in Anaheim you'd think someone in the production staff would have noticed this.

I mean Rohn just got saying saying it and the graphics on that scoreboard were correct.

Maybe WGN couldn't fit 16-2 on the screen, and could only fit 6-2.
Not saying that happened, just throwing it out there.

As much as I love a good conspiracy theory, I think that there were some graphics screwups, in that they weren't allowing enough space to display the big numbers. Another thing I noticed at the same time is that they also were not allowing for enough space for the "F" to denote a final score, so many games appeared as if they had a "1" there, when I knew many of the games they were showing were final and not just in the 1st inning.

Move along, nothing to see here...

If they could only post 6-2 due to space limitations why wasn't it Brewers 6, Cubs 2?

This scoreboard thing isn't isolated to WGN. During today's broadcast on Comcast, they were showing YESTERDAY'S scores along with today's scores. It could make people wonder if everyone was playing double-headders!

WGN knows what theyre doing. Theyve been in this business a long long time. The Angels SOX game was Sold Out. It was also a rematch of the ALCS. Lots of people in the 2 of the biggest markets in the US would be watching, including elsewhere. WGN knew what it was doing

It wasn't just the cubs/Brewers game...they were showing Friday's scores for pretty much every game on Saturday, they also were doing it yesterday.

We were more mad they warned both benches, because we wanted the Sox to retaliate.
