AS OF 5/24, ANY UPDATES ON HIDEO NOMO? WHAT'S HE BEEN DOING THIS PAST MONTH?

I don't remember hearing that the Sox acquired him, but I noticed his name on the Charlotte roster. What's the story behind his acquistion and does he have a chance to help us?

If he's in a position to help, we're in BIG trouble

Was picked up in offseason cuz nobody wanted him, he will never see our team unless the plane or bus carrying our staff suffers a travesty

Nomo would only be in a position to help us lose games. I say that if we have a 15-game lead in August, call him up so we can keep things exciting.

Not to be the grammar police, or dictionary police, but I think you mean tragedy.

In any case, you are right, because there is no way that Nomo sees a MLB White Sox uniform, unless all 5 starting pitchers go down, and the bullpen has to be put into the rotation.

Okay. I know he sucks. Thanks everyone for the obvious.
Maybe a better question would be, "what are the Sox thinking?"

The point in getting him, is to get him into the organization. The guy is still highly respected in Japan.

He stinks now as a pitcher, but in the future he would be a great coach, and great contact in Japan. He would be a good guy to have in the system and a magnet for Japanese players. He is also probably a good teacher for our younger players down at that level.

He is also a good player to have around if something went horribly wrong.

It was funny to see him pitch in spring training in a sox uniform. He got hit around quite a bit.

I would think that he could be decent if he had more time with Coop. Coop seems to turn so many pitchers around into gold!

Hey, he'd give Iguchi someone to talk to...worth a point in Nomo's favor, I'd think...

Any updates on Hideo Nomo? Haven't seen any change in status on Knights' site in a month.

He's still on the DL as far as I know. He has only pitched in 1 game so far.
