He was named to the American League All-Star team in 1999, when he hit .276 with 85 homers and 417 RBI in 787 games.

Holy cow, that's a heck of a season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How come I can't remember that happening???? Why do people make a big deal out of Bonds' homers and Hack Wilson's RBI's after that season??? sheesh

I don't think this was what they were talking about when they say George is buying a championship.

I guess things DO come full-circle. 10 years later and Coomer still has Ventura keeping him from a ML job.

Do they know what 16" softball is in NY? Coomer should be playing in the Chicago park disrict.

Coomer and a very uncertian and ageing Robin Ventura? Oh yeah, the Yanks look GREAT at the hot corner next season.

How bad a downgrade could it be for them....Robin's contract makes sense and so does his defense...the yanks painted themselves into a great situation....essentially anything Robin gives them at the plate is gravy...If Robin doesnt work out to at least a worthwhile status than the Yanks move up that Rolen derby list pretty quickly
